Considering there was a post about Pokemon GO, ...
I'd like some advice about if it would be good to purchase a Russian Dragon's of Tarkir booster box for about $100 USD? Shipping prices don't matter, as my friend is in Russia at the moment (he is the one actually buying this, and is wondering if he should).

Statistics for ModernDiplomacyII
Is there any statistics about how common is the win by solos. Which nations has the most wins, and who the least wins. And statistics like that.
And also, in general, which variants would you say are the most played, and why?. Any thoughts?.

2016 Australian Federal Election
Well Malcolm Turnbull is visiting the Governor General, so an election is imminent, and probably a "double dissolution" election with the full Senate being dissolved, not half as is usually the case

UK Politics
We have had an elected Head-of_State since forever, we've had a Prime Minister elected with something like 25% of electorate and now he is standing down to be replaced by new PM that no one elected. Home of democracy? I think not.

"Just one point is we can't make a law that only affects the UK without it being OK with Brussels... I could go on but don't have the time. I'm still solidly for leave"

You don't know how untrue this is??

FYI EU regulations are pass by the Parliment and Council, so directly elected MEPs vote on it, and then National governments vote on it.

Afterwards, the national parlimenta write the regulation into their own laws. So every country has a choice whether to implement each EU regulation or not, and sometimes they get punished for not applying an EU regulation...

But today, you just have a tonne of Laws in the UK, which your MPs will have to repeal one-by-one. Or more likely just ignore, because they don't care...

Also, the Council of Europe (which has 47 members, and has nothing to do with the EU) pushes for things like banning the death penalty (which has lead to no death penalty in Russia...) and signing up to a European Court of Human Rights.

The UK seperately signed up to the ECHR, and leaving the EU doesn't change this international obligation.

Also, the good friday agreement (actually two agreements, one signed between the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the other signed between major political parties in NI) stipulates that the UK guarentees all citizens of Northern Ireland their rights under the ECHR (European Convention on Human Rights)

So the one deal which brought peace to Northern Ireland includes enforcing ECHR decisions. That is an international obligation which lead to peace withon the UK... Please don't vote to leave it.

Not quite true. You are thinking of directives, not regulations. Regulations are enforceable without having to be transposed into national law. Directives do have to be transposed into national law and the member states are required to do so. Even then, the failure to implement a directive can sometimes lead to the directive having direct effect.

Cameron will go down in history as terrible, but he's far more effective than if Johnson were PM. Until the referendum become the sole issue, he was actually competent. Then came the issue that broke the Conservatives that came before him. They were floodgates that couldn't be stopped unless he didn't win a majority last May. The opposition is a different story though. Corbyn doesn't want to resign, but it's been inevitable since he became leader of Labour. He's incompetent in this role and will have to step down soon if Labour want a crack at Cameron's successor in 2020.

The people who are calling for a revote are like sulky children who didn't get what they wanted.
ssorenn (0 DX)
26 Jun 16 UTC
This is a big deal and they only needed 100,000 signatures but got close to 1.8 million. Revote is worth a discussion
Gobbledydook (1389 D(B))
26 Jun 16 UTC
It's worth a discussion in the sense that 'no, this wont work'. If we have a revote every time someone is unhappy with the result then there will never be a resolution to any problem. Out is out. I'm sorry.

The referendum was just "advisory". London mat never activate article 50. :)
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

Yeah, but if they were planning on denying the vote, they would have asked Cameron to stay on and take the fall for them.
ssorenn (0 DX)
26 Jun 16 UTC
Peter , you're correct that they may not activate article 50 with so many people signing that petition. Also Cameron chose to step down before anyone knew about this petition
peterlund (1310 D(G))
26 Jun 16 UTC
Due to the chaos in Westminster at the moment, Cameron should call for a new general election to be held soon. Tory/UKIP-Out against Labour/LibDem-In. Then UK get a government that wants to exit and negotiate for this OR a government that revokes the referendum decision.

Millenials! What a disappointment. No generation on either side of the pond has EVER been so wanting of unaccountable, undemocratic politicians who care more about riding their gravy train than the public. They've sold us globalization as a way for all of us to hold hands and sing kumbaya together, irradicating war and fighting for social justice. Meanwhile they've shipped your jobs overseas, brought in cheap foreign labor, make supranational trade deals that only benefit corporations ONLY... They dangle welfare and free goodies for your continued support. Fools. This is global, corporate fascism. You are willing serfs.

Has anyone else seen the torrent of abuse directed at 'Leavers'? Things like "most googled term: what is the EU?" Or "Bregrets"...

Basically undermining democracy, the message is: 'those fooking lower class ejits didn't vote the right way, they don't even know what they were doing'

And it is this message which leads to people feeling excluded, apathy and low voter turnout, people of lower socio-economic status not being engaged because higher-class twats in the media send put messages like this.

I will admit there is a democratic deficit in the UK, but if anything, it is caused by the media harassment of working class people which causes it.
TrPrado (461 D)

Millennials didn't sell globalization. Increased global trade, cooperation, and dependence was inevitable at the advent of capitalism.
TrPrado (461 D)

"Cameron should call for a new general election to be held soon."
He doesn't have that power anymore, thanks to the Fixed-term Parliaments Act. There has to be either a vote of no confidence or a vote by 2/3 MPs to have an early general election.
xKivx (100 D)
26 Jun 16 UTC
No, you're right, they didn't sell it, but they've been buying it up!!!
TrPrado (461 D)

Every generation has bought up globalization, and it won't end anytime soon.
orathaic (1009 D(B))

Globalization can mean different things depending on how it is implemented. Neo-liberal globalization is very different from a socialist globalization.

So which one people have been biying into depends on the nuance.

Meaning of "no in-game messaging"
First-time player question: if a game has a "no in-game messaging" setting, does that mean there's no communication between the players at all? Or is there just a specific kind of messaging the players should/should not use?

*Apologies if this is answered somewhere in the rules or another thread; couldn't find it specifically anywhere.
