Considering there was a post about Pokemon GO, ...
I'd like some advice about if it would be good to purchase a Russian Dragon's of Tarkir booster box for about $100 USD? Shipping prices don't matter, as my friend is in Russia at the moment (he is the one actually buying this, and is wondering if he should).

Statistics for ModernDiplomacyII
Is there any statistics about how common is the win by solos. Which nations has the most wins, and who the least wins. And statistics like that.
And also, in general, which variants would you say are the most played, and why?. Any thoughts?.

2016 Australian Federal Election
Well Malcolm Turnbull is visiting the Governor General, so an election is imminent, and probably a "double dissolution" election with the full Senate being dissolved, not half as is usually the case

UK Politics
We have had an elected Head-of_State since forever, we've had a Prime Minister elected with something like 25% of electorate and now he is standing down to be replaced by new PM that no one elected. Home of democracy? I think not.

Ban all Trucks
Without trucks, the terrorist couldn't possibly have carried so many explosives. Trucks are weapons of mass destruction and must be banned. Goodness, at least do background checks on the truckers.

Meaning of "no in-game messaging"
First-time player question: if a game has a "no in-game messaging" setting, does that mean there's no communication between the players at all? Or is there just a specific kind of messaging the players should/should not use?

*Apologies if this is answered somewhere in the rules or another thread; couldn't find it specifically anywhere.

He's very likeable, but as implied already, he perfectioned a system that kills foreigners and Americans abroad because they are related to people suspected of terrorism.

People die and 'guilty until proven innocent' is an understatement.

Still, I doubt anyone running against Obama would've done that differently. I guess he was the better choice still :-(

I don't know about best and smartest ever...
I'd rate him as a very good President, certainly better than both Bushes and Clinton. The problem of Obama's presidency I think has been the continual bloody-minded, stupid and obsessive opposition on the part of the Republicans and other right wing Conservatives.

One classically totemic issue is Gun control and reform of gun control laws.. I hope all those who oppose sensible reform of gun control laws are prepared to accept responsibility for way too many dead...children, adults, police ...all victims.
In a conversation with a friend yesterday about the inability of Americans to understand the problems caused by allowing their nation to be crippled by it's gun culture, Trump's wall got mentioned, and despite the fact that there are many wonderful people living in America, maybe the best thing for the rest of us would be if America built it's wall ..all the way around..and then all the Americans shoot each other dead, make a bonfire of the whole box and dice. Leave the ashes and let it be a nature reserve haunted by it's ghosts.

"certainly better than both Bushes and Clinton."
Okay, maybe better than the younger Bush, but I don't think he's quite at HW or Clinton's notoriety. Father Bush is a severely underrated president, and Clinton helped negotiate some pretty notable peace deals.

You mean like the speeding up of Gaddafi's downfall leading to the destabilization of Libya making it a haven for terrorism? Wait, Republicans didn't do that, ha.
Or do you mean the part where he used drones to bomb the shit out of the Middle East at a level not implemented by any prior president? Hmm, still not the Republicans.

Regarding the study, I assume a fair number of those countries are in Europe.

That was a long article :)

It got me thinking and realise why I and probably a lot of other non US citizens loved and still like Obama.

The fact that he was elected at all was a proof that the democratically system in USA actually works once in while. A new fresh politician that average Americans can relate to got elected. A president that had an ambition to serve the people got elected.

After the election of Bush the younger and the presidential vote count in Florida there was some doubt about this. The view many had of him was that he was a stupid playboy brought up by this political dynasty the Bush family and that he was put into office to serve only the richest people. To make sure taxes stayed low and possibly gets even lower.

So in short the world felt reassured and calmed when we saw that your democratic system actually worked.

"the world felt reassured and calmed when we saw that your democratic system actually worked."

Needless to say but most of that feeling of reassurance would be thrown out the window if Trump would get elected.

I will feel really reassured if a criminal (Hillary Clinton) who the laws and rule of law doesn't seem to be applied to gets elected.

Needless to say that the (false) feeling of reassurance will be thrown out of the window unless third party wins.

Obama was elected because he put up an act too. I seem to recall that he was going to reduce CIA intrusion rather than perfecting it.

There have been some really fucking smart people in that office. Obama is smart, but he doesn't top the group. Nor has being really fucking smart in a conventional sense been a strong predictor of being a great president (where Obama is often considered middle-of-the-road or around the upper quartile--though of course this is a highly political question; consider FDR's ranking, or Reagan's).
