I'd like to get a new classic/full press/WTA game going. Game turns would be 36 hours and I'd want the bet size to be somewhere around 30-110, but am flexible. Anyone interested?
Whose Line Is It Anyway? Public press Diplomacy game
So I recently just had inspiration for a public press Diplomacy game based on the amazing show Whose Line Is It Anyway? and thought it would be worth trying.
Essentially, we're going to take seven players and fit them into a game, and have the audience (that's you people) submit ideas for possible roles the players can play. "+1" an option you like; the top seven "+1" options will be selected and assigned at random to the players. They then play a public press game while trying to remain as devoted to the role as possible - and if there should ever be a conflict between the behavior which victory conditions would dictate and which staying in-character would dictate, the player should try to remain as dedicated to the character as possible.
I'm going to need 6-7 potential players, as I don't know that I want to play it myself, and of course I'll need suggestions on the forum for character ideas. So get cracking!
A diplomat incapable of speaking, and here we can have the Czech or Lando play this role. *I don't think this would work so well, but it would be enjoyable.*
That depends on the remaining characters. It's quite possible that being mute wouldn't be a handicap at all, if all the others were incapable of paying attention/listening/not trying to kill you/cooperation/whatever.
I realize this is going to be somewhat messy, so I'm going to close suggestions at about 40-50 posts in and remake the thread in one of our +1 poll styles.

everyone knows it's all about the live winner-take-all gunboat games on the standard map. how do ghost ratings work? is there some way of pulling stats out of the database for this analysis? i want LWTAGBCV ratings!
At most, how many subsets can you find of the set A = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13} such that any two intersect in exactly one element? What about |A| = 10? Show a proof along with the answer.
Gunboat is more true to board Diplomacy than press
In the Diplomacy rulebook, it is explicitly stated that no diplomacy or discussion may take place during what we call "retreats" and "builds" phases. Let's see what it means for legitimacy of press games.
