TEST PIE #1...Who is YOUR Recipe Guru???
My daughter (12) and I just put our test Pumpkin Pie in the oven. We are "pie makers" already - it's a family thing (gotta beat Grandma's pie!) Trying a modification to our old recipe based upon hints from America's Test Kitchen. Also a *huge* fan of Alton Brown. Both give scientific reason WHY they do what they do - appeals to the Engineer in me. Who is YOUR favorite recipe source?

Is it some sort of test? Greece is on-line but hasn't moved since the start of the game, and 3 of the 5 countries never moved at all. Only Carthage and Egypt have submitted orders and they have made no moves against each other.

"We Need A Leader, Not A Reader" --Herman Cain (WHY Is This Guy Taken Seriously?"
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/17/herman-cain-leader-reader_n_1099854.html
...No. I'm sorry--no. That's...no. That's something I could see a Daily Show skit making up for humor...I DON'T expect that from the guy who could potentially have the nuclear launch codes. Cain fans...WHY? Tell me, WHY do you buy into this guy (and NO "He's better than Obama" talk...why do you believe Cain is the answer, NOT why you dislike Obama.)
obiwanobiwan (248 D)

Also...if you're reading this...

I'd like to say, you're a reader.
Good for you.
You are officially higher up my list of people I'd consider President-worthy than Herman Cain.
krellin (80 DX)

Does Cain have supporters anymore? The only appealig thing about Cain for most people, I think, is that he was not a Washington politician, and he was "bold" enough to suggest a radical idea. Whether or not people actually understand 9-9-9, it's catchy, and Americans are stupid enough to buy into "catchy". Plus, he disses the media and acts like he doesn't care about them, which most disgruntled conservatives like.

But he hasn't got a shot in hell of winning -- not because he's black, by the way -- because he only has one thing going for him: A catchy phrase he repeats ad infinitum. Ask him about ANYTHING else and gooooood luck...
krellin (80 DX)

re american's buying into stupid catchy phrases all the time without understanding them. For example, "We are the 99% and we speak for everyone" -- A bunch of dumbasses buy into that bullshit, too, even though nobody, not even the lapdog mainstream media, can report on what "the 99%" want....but a bunch of thoughtless fools support it (sadly a bunch reside here, too....even though, again, the Occupy movement has never REALLY made any sort of SUGGESTIONS on what they want.

Ergo morons will buy into 9-9-9....
Didn't bother to read the article, don't support Cain, never did. I prefer Huntsman.

But did anyone watch his interview when he was asked about how he would have responded to the Libya situation if he were President? It was painful to watch.
obiwanobiwan (248 D)
19 Nov 11 UTC
...For a change, I have to agree with that line of reasoning, krellin...
Rascal (100 D)

And so continues Herman Cain's decline into Keenan Thompson's impression of him.

Or... Its morning in America
Republican Presidential Candidates who have a well rounded understanding (whether right or wrong) of the issues confronting America. Gingrich, Romney, Huntsman, everyone else is a punchline.
krellin (80 DX)
19 Nov 11 UTC
@Santa - Agree with your gang of three there. The rest of the crowd is a bunch of blithering idiots more hell-bent on tearing down their fellow party-members than they are advancing any policy debate. (right or wrong...)
obiwanobiwan (248 D)
19 Nov 11 UTC
Newt Gingrich=10 years too late (might've worked if he'd run after Clinton was out...now he's just too old in the eyes of most, and his glory days are in the past.)

Romney=Meh...really, that's it, just "meh," few really love or hate him, he's just kinda "there" as the fall-back, "well, there's no one else" candidate...hardly overwhelming

Huntsman=??? Seriously, I probably couldn't pick him out of the crowd...not nearly as well-publicized as the others...
"Newt Gingrich=10 years too late (might've worked if he'd run after Clinton was out...now he's just too old in the eyes of most, and his glory days are in the past.)"

1. He was hated after Clinton was out, he was blamed for the government shutdown, something i do not doubt that you have no clue about. But what does this have to do with his understanding of the issues? He understands the issues despite wanting to talk about the media all the time

Romney- Again how is your statement relative

Huntsman- Your ignorance aside, what does that have to do with my statement

and I have to add Ron Paul in, he does have a stance on all the issues although i may not agree.
@Obi - you'd do well to look more into Huntsman. He has some great foreign policy stances
not to mention Gingrich resigned from Congress in disgrace before Clinton's term came to an end, the only thing that gives gingrich a chance is because his "glory days" are so far in the past
"The only appealig thing about Cain for most people, I think, is that he was not a Washington politician, and he was "bold" enough to suggest a radical idea."

This, though I'd add "appeared not to be" instead of "was" -- while not a politician in and of itself, the appeal from that is that he's supposedly a political "outsider," but having chaired the KC Fed Reserve bank it's hard to call him a legitimate outsider. And 9-9-9 is only bold because it's a tax plan that is bold enough to take itself seriously while sounding like a Godfather's pizza deal :p
Seriously, this moron thought the Taliban was involved in the Libyan uprising. This is just so bad it's funny.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1111/68712.html
Its one thing to have no foreign policy experience (Obama, Clinton, Reagan before the Presidency) and another to have no Foreign Policy understanding, Cain

How much did Newtie take from Freddie Mac? LOL.

Everyone thinks Newt is so smart, because he speaks in word salad format.
Putin33 (111 D)
19 Nov 11 UTC
Newt has no chance, because he has alienated so many of his own allies and because so many of his former people are willing to come forward and blast him. Also, if people don't like Romney for flip flopping, they're not going to like Newt.

And also the fact that he spends money like King Farouk and can't run his own personal budget to save his life.
