Keeping in mind I am, of course, a moderate liberal and registered Democrat (Left of Center, Right of Putin...both of them ;) ) my take:
Trump--A push. I don't think he did anything to jeopardize his (disgusting) position as the top candidate right now...took a lot of heat and personal attacks, but that's mostly a byproduct of his style, and I think the same schmucks who back Trump and his bravado will latch onto his largely not being shaken by those attacks. (If YOU like Trump...dear God...please, tell me why!) :p
Carson--I think he played to his strengths and avoided any destructive attack on his person or positions. It's interesting that he's climbing in the polls...I don't think there's a moment here that would jeopardize that, and we'll see if he gets a slight bump. Actually, as I type this, he's handling a question on vaccines (we'll ignore the idiocy of the anti-vax standpoint) and I think he walked the tightrope well for the Republicans, citing the proof it's not tied to autism while appearing anti big government, which a lot of anti-vaxxers naturally dislike...an interesting moment for him, unique given his medical background.
Bush--Another debate, and I think it's another loss. He just can't stand out, either from this GOP field or in his own family. I really think he's a dead man walking.
Fiorina--Well, she began the night by "graduating" into the main debate...and by saying the federal government is both "too powerful" and "too inept" (an interesting combo, wouldn't you say? :p Powerful, a big, big danger...but inept, so...not dangerous...except they are?) Don't know know how she'll resonate, we'll see.
Rubio--Rubio was Rubio. Agree with him or not (and I obviously nearly always fall into the latter category) he's a better speaker than others here, but I also think he's been giving those "good" speeches for a while now...probably a push, but he's in a position where he needs to start to gain.
Paul--I have to wonder at his debate tactics. No outspoken, not light-hearted, and didn't always have a terrible response (I disagree with him, I just mean responding to others) but just not vocal enough and rather flat. Even if you have the facts, you have to present them well...and I don't think he does that.
Walker--I'm frankly amazed he's lasted this long...I don't think he did anything to stand out, the field's already crowded, and I think he's on his last legs.
Christie--Slightly better than Walker, but much the same...it's not like it's a tiny field...I can't see him making gains.
Huckabee--How is HE still going? He's not going anywhere...except to shake the hands of another Kim Davis...
Cruz--The night's big loser in my opinion. A bad showing, quiet when he should've spoken, and when he did speak it didn't always work well. He has more staying power than some of the above, but we'll see how long that can last.
Kasich--I actually didn't think he had a terrible night...the problem was, and always seems to be, overshadowed by others. He needs a big night or a big moment to make him stand out, and he either doesn't have it, or doesn't want to use it. Either way, it's almost a shame...I don't know how much I really agree with him, but he seems to have more to him than some of the others on that stage--but he just doesn't have the persona necessary.
