we need more players. right now it is me and Marlen, why dont we let the webdip community welcome Marlen the way he deserves to be welcomed.

I have started to become interested in south america. This website has better forum discussion, but vdiplomacy.com has the south american variant. If you and two others have accounts on both sites then we can do a 4 player variant of that. I don't know if we'll find 7 people to do a standard game.

I think we could get the 7 people. just got to give it time. I gave it a 24 hour starting period so we have time.

I also sent a personal invite to almost everyone who commented after you..... those would be the people who would be interested the most.

Why is is anonymous? How do people even take their revenge when they don't know who I am. Then again, they will probably be able to guess based on how my messages are phrased unless I actively try to sound like someone else.

If it isnt anonymous that leaves it open for one to suggest that the players gained up on a singular person... which should be avoided.

I am sure it happens all the time. I just think it is a bit disingenuous to pretend that nobody knows who anyone else is in an anonymous game where you can exchange messages particularly when you have all communicated a lot before and have a feel for how some of the players in the game compose messages.

I will tell you, I have played numerous games with a few others and while sometimes I can guess who is who it normally isnt until abut midgame when most of the alliances are already formed.

I guess your buddy could just send you an email when he finds out which country he was assigned "Hey Byron, I'm Austria, let's not attack each other BFF4EVA!!11"

Well... yeah. I mean I understand that realistically it is not an issue. And if I think there is a prejudice against me I can actively pretend to sound like other people, which could be kind of fun. I just worry that although I would not be able to tell, somebody more seasoned than me might. And then they may subconsciously change their gameplay either to my advantage or disadvantage.

Maybe if there were a set way of communicating, like you would click to send proposals (which you do not write) where you select territories as demilitarized zones or propose a split up of neutral territories between the two of you, then send that rather than a message. But I guess that would be too complicated to implement, and lack the ability to come up with BS.

BS like "the enemy is going to get you, look how he moved this piece - we need to work together"... which is maybe part of the fun.

Marlen, communicating about an on-going anonymous game outside of the anonymous game is not allowed, and if you suspect that some players are doing so then you should notify a mod..... they aren't monsters they do actually have the sites best interest in mind.

I'm up for the "Marlen Challenge." You can make it a twofer. I think some of you might want to take a whack at me too. I know I can't hid my ... style doesn't seem like the right word ... say, manner of communication.

I'd prefer 36 hour phases.

Well, I could create a game, invite all my friends and then I'd only need six more to get the game going.
