To be fair we needed a place to send all of the criminals and the Irish so it didn't work out too bad ..... however we didn't realize the other European countries were going to send all of their undesirables over the pond as well, what a mess we made of that place. How can you compare Brown Ale with Heineken you drongo

I'm just saying taste-wise I like the latter better, I'm not comparing them any more closely than that.

They're very different...but if I have a choice and both cost the same at the bar, I'm getting Heineken.

(Usually, however, they don't cost the same and I'm a cheap bastard, so Newcastle it is...at least four or five a game...)

Newcastle Brown on draft? I always assumed it must exist somewhere, but never imagined people would actually drink the stuff. Still, I've never understood the international popularity of Heineken either. It is a very average lager.

I like Heineken ..... or Bintang as we say in Bali.
Kronenbourg 1664 is right up there for me as the one of the best lagers, also Stella.
I remember being really ill after 4 Newcy Browns and a cocktail of other cider/lager mixes and when I drink it now it brings back bad memories.
In Oz of course it would be that infamous crossover (lager/bitter) drink VB ...... lovely !!

Stella starts off nice enough but needs to be drunk within around ten minutes as it becomes foul as it warms up. Kronenbourg is the best lager out of the pub regulars by far. After that they are all much of a muchness, aside from undrinkable ones from North America with the word "light" in the name.

I like that Stella 4% .... not as strong but nicer taste

Newcastle Brown on draught is a very rare sight, even in Newcastle. It's almost always served in bottles. It's a decent beer, one of the ones I tend to go for. If I'm in the mood for lager I prefer Grolsch.

I used to love Grolsch as a kid, that is a good lager, I liked the lid, the marketing was never wasted on me

You Brits have some of the best beer in the world and you're going on about Kronenbourg and Newcastle? That's shit even in the US.

Give me a cold Narragansett or Utica Club any day. If I'm feeling like spending a little extra, Saranac is the best around.

I was talking lager not beer ..... we have some great ales (the darker lager that you don't chill). A lovely pint of London Pride, I also don't mind a nice smooth Kilkenny but don't know many places that sell this now.
We have lots of micro-breweries making quality ales .... (the dark warm drink)

I recommend you give Crabbies Ginger Beer a try. A smooth taste which doesn't leave as much of the after-taste the following morning as you get with beers, ales and lagers.
This recommendation is not extended to bo_sox48, whose foul mouth needs no refreshing.
I am looking forward to the outburst this posting will elicit. Watching a boor make a fool of himself is so much fun.

I like Crabbies but it would not be my drink of choice for an all-night session, it's nice and refreshing though .... if you like a cute little ginger beer.
