Female CEO - No Better Than the Rest
see below
krellin (80 DX)

Lest you were under any delusion that a female can do the job any better than a man (as the feminists would have you believe), Mary Barra comes from the Barack Obama / Sgt Schultz "I saw nothing / I know nothing" school of denial.

Though she was powerful enough and enough of a corporate insider to get promoted to the rank of CEO...she *never* heard about any problems with GM product in which passenger's had died.

Good for the goose, good for the bitch: String her up and throw her out on her ass.

For a brief history of her recent rise to power, see below. (And she never even heard a rumor about faulty parts....imagine...)

In February 2008 she became Vice President of Global Manufacturing Engineering.
In July 2009 she advanced to the position of Vice President of Global Human Resources, which she held until February 2011

In Feb 2011 she was named Executive Vice President of Global Product Development. The latter position included responsibilities for design; she has worked to reduce the number of automobile platforms in GM.

In August 2013, her Vice President responsibility was extended to include Global Purchasing and Supply Chain.

On the bright side, she did work up a few tears with the victims families. I'm sure her feminine sensitivities made them feel much better...

Of course, if Barack Obama / the Federal Government were not OWNERs of GM through much of this time, one can surely imagine that NHTSA (National Highway Transportation Safety Administration) might not have...whoooops!....overlooked GM's failings....until rigggght after GM booted them out.

Fuck the Feds...THIS is why the Fed's shouldn't be involved in private corporations!
krellin (80 DX)
02 Apr 14 UTC
@PE - Not sure what this has to do with April Fools - we are talking about the CEO of a corporation lying in front of Congress. When asked about the timeline of events during yesterday's Congressional Hearings, she claimed ignorance, even though the Congresswoman asking a line of questions was simply asking for verification of the timeline GM HAD PROVIDED. So she is either incompetent, or a liar...

Like a I said...the Barack Obama school of denial.

1. Woman gets appointed CEO
2. Feminist jump up and down and say things will get better now...women are better, more compassionate, etc.
3. crap like this: http://www.thedailybeast.com/witw/articles/2013/08/23/where-are-all-the-scandals-involving-female-ceos.html

4. Except when push comes to shove, Mary Barra is no better than the rest. That's the point.
4a. So the next time the media shoves it down your throat that a woman has been appointed CEO, reply with the appropriate <yawn> and wave of dismissal is deserves.
krellin (80 DX)
02 Apr 14 UTC
@AD - No, not trolling; making a point. You just don't like to hear the point, so you dismiss it. Or you are intellectually incapable of grasping the point. Either way, it's a knock on you, not on me.

Isn't this what feminism is all about? Giving women the opportunity to be just as incompetent as men in positions of power? Just like how gays are fighting for the right to be in equally unhappy marrriages as straights.
Pls troll me harder it's sexually stimulating
krellin (80 DX)
02 Apr 14 UTC
Abge - YES - well, that is what *one* branch of feminism is about.

There is another rabid branch of feminism that says women are superior (please refer to link above - "scandals involving Female CEO") that suggest women in power would be more ethical, cause fewer wars, etc.

Yes, my point is it is time to actually treat women as *equals*. That means acknowledge they suck and deceive and lie just like a man. That means instead of being told how great and wonderful and such it is when a women makes it to the CEO position, <yawn> in reply, because really, who cares?
abgemacht (1076 D(G))

So I agree with half of what you're saying: if you believe men and women are truly equal, then you shouldn't expect one or the other to be better at a given job (within reason: men can lift heavier things), such as CEO. A male or female CEO should on average be equally good or bad.

The second part of your statement, that we shouldn't care when a woman is appointed CEO, I take issue with, though. If women and men make equal CEOs, then why are CEOs so disproportionately men? Doesn't this seem like an issue to you? An indication of some underlying problem? If one is happy that a woman is appointed CEO, it could be because one is just happy that someone with equal abilities is given an equal shot, not because they're expected to be better.

So, I think your response of *yawn* is just as wrong as extremists on the other end who act as though a female CEO is like the coming of a massiah.
krellin (80 DX)
02 Apr 14 UTC
Abge, you are apparently buying in to the *lie* of left-wing feminism that women *want* to be CEO in equal numbers to men, and that an equal number of women have the career/resume/experience to take those positions. This is simply false.

Please read: http://reason.com/archives/2012/05/15/jack-welch-vs-feminists-dumb-debate-over

It's anecdotal - but I can tell you frommy experience with the women in my life, the workings mothers in my family or who are friends, that I couldn't name one that would aspire to be the CEO of a corporation, or even run a small business, at that. Mostly they are looking for a comf
krellin (80 DX)
02 Apr 14 UTC
<whoops> ...a comfortable job if they work, many wish to not work at all, but in work they are looking for flexibility in life, not soul-crushing responsibility. I'm not saying these women don't exist, of course, but I've met very few "ambitious" women....and I use the word "ambitious" only in the vilest of Left-Wing Feminist ways...meaning that if your goal is to run a household and raise your family well, then you are not "ambitious"...which is an utterly repulsive, and *soul crushing* ideology that comes from some branches of feminism - that the choice to be the best mother, the best home maker (which *is* work, by the way!!) is somehow an inferior choice.
Octavious (2802 D)

"If truth be told I think a lot of women don't want to make the sacrifice (of family for career). It's how God breeds us and it's human nature. Women want children, women crave family life and you can't ever have it all. Men can, women can't. And the reason for that is pure genetics."

So just to be clear, you guys are saying that because of inherent, genetic differences, women overall will never be as successful in the wider world as men will be, in a thread about how we don't need feminism.
krellin (80 DX)
02 Apr 14 UTC
ckroberts - nobody made such a claim. You draw this conclusion yourself.

It also perhaps exposes your extreme bias as to what you define as "success".

Think on this, padawan...
so I guess if ckroberts didn't summarize your thread, I certainly don't understand the point of highlighting the fact that the CEO is a woman
Octavious (2802 D)

I'm not saying anything. I merely thought this male dominated thread would benefit from a female perspective, and what better than one of the UK's most respected business leaders?

@Maple - so when she heard about these deaths before this did she cry? When she sits on Capital Hill and lies in front of Congress does she cry? When she, as a VP over manufacturing, global product development, etc....back then, when she heard about the deaths being caused by GM product, did she cry? Because she certainly **didn't blow the whistle**...and yet now we are supposed to give her praise?
krellin (80 DX)

@PE - what's to grasp....women are no better than men. That's the point. We suffer the moronic view of feminists often enough that say, "If only women ruled the planet...things would be so much better....less deceit, less war, etc etc etc." Again, as I pointed out to abge, read the link above about ethics and female CEO....hogwash.

The point is there is no difference between a trickster woman in the CEO spot and a trickster man. The point is as a society we really need to get over the "Yay, a woman is CEO" nonsense like we had to suffer through when Barra was promoted...because as far as I can tell, regardless of how she pees, she's the same of lying bullshit in the CEO chair as we had before.

Is there a feature for the use and creation of games for a classroom?
I am a teacher that wants to use this web game for a simulation for my different classes. Is there a method to create a game for my different classes, or would I have to have several users to join and create different games. Let me know so that I can plan ahead to implement this in my classroom. Thank you.
