Hey everyone, its me again. I've been thinking lately about the initial failures of the 150cc club and how they came about, and I've come to the conclusion that the largest problems that faced the club were largely related to scheduling. In both of our previous attempts we had plenty of members, enough that running a game should have been possible. However live games take a lot of time, and its hard to know in advance when you'll have time to sit down and play diplomacy for six hours or so.
But I don't want to just give up on the idea of quality live games, and so I have come up with a solution, that I believe will allow us to have quality semi-live games. With no CD's and a set schedule.
The 150cc weekend club.
Here is the the deal. 10day/phase games, which run like this. Monday-Thursday: Long diplomacy phase, this is where everyone can make long term plans discuss the future and try and plan ahead. Friday, complete 1/phase by 11:59pm friday evening; Saturday, complete 2 phases by 11:59pm saturday evening; Sunday complete 2 phases by 11:59pm sunday evening.
Where there is to be no diplomacy during builds or retreats, and builds and retreats are to be finalized immediately.
Thereby guaranteeing a pace of 2-1/2 phases of semi-live play every weekend. With no time pressure over the course of the week. Of course the game plan I listed about is only a model, and I would encourage players to run games with more phases per weekend, if their schedules allow. For a more live experience.
Rules for joining the 150cc club would be as follows
-To join you need an existing player to sponsor you.
-Players must be in the top 250GR places
-0% unexplained CDs, no more than 5% explained CDs
So what do you say everyone. Should we get some quality diplomacy going once again?
