Retreating to the attacker's province
when attacker comes via convoy - is that possible?
I know that it's hard to imagine such situation under normal rules, but anyway.

diplomacy scenarios
So, a scenario can simply be lifted from mid/late game of any board (a finished game) You need new victory conditions, so some players now have a goal of achieving a draw, or the weakest ones just need to avoid elimination... meanwhile one/two players might have a solo as their goal...

Well, I'm in the 1k club now. I expect congratulations from my dear friends like SplitDiplomat ("you'll never learn this game, you'll always stay an idiot") and CSteinhardt ("when you go into higher-pot games, I'll watch you fall" or something to that matter).
cspieker (18223 D)

Congratz Zmaj.

You sure seem to do well with these games, but have an awful time getting over the hump at the end. I tried to give you a little lift there at the end since France seemed to be more concerned with knocking me off than doing anything about Russia.

well yes you were in the way of every move i tryed to make to stop him so i decided to eliminate you
Zmaj (215 D(B))
24 May 12 UTC
Actually, I was afraid France would leave England alone and join his fleets against me. It was the only thing that could have stopped me at that point.

Cspieker, you're right about my endgames. I usually fumble at that stage, trying to coordinate all those units, and go for a draw.

I tried to get out of your way moving to London and Edinburgh but you bounced me out of them!

I guess I deserved it though, attacking you at the start the way I did. Too bad for me that Germany didn't pitch in. The reason I jumped the Channel is it looked like you were NMRing. I guess I'll stop making moves based on the red !!'s. That has messed me up more than once.
seth24c (5659 D)
24 May 12 UTC
yes that hurt us both but the Germany CD killed the game
Zmaj (215 D(B))
24 May 12 UTC
Germany didn't leave by accident, I'm sure. He left at the precise moment he realized he wouldn't win. I hate that attitude. I'm very glad I won, but I know the game would have been much more interesting if that idiot stayed.
seth24c (5659 D)

yes indeed

I just looked at the maps France, and you are full of it saying you were trying to work with me at the end. Also, I attacked Germany the minute it was clear he wasn't going to help me versus you. We could have walked over Germany at that point too.

I took no French centers. Just Belgium and then I left Belgium to you by moving into Holland, and I vacated the English Channel.

So yes, I maybe hurt our chances, but I think your inflexibility was also to blame.

And in terms of good stuff, Zmaj, the careful way that you didn't antagonize Germany and then stabbing Turkey just at the right time was brilliant. Walking into Germany was basically an afterthought at that point.

Cspieker, thank you for the praise. I noticed you wanted to support me into Sweden at the beginning, but I didn't have the guts to go back, lol. I admired your move into Belgium at the beginning, it was very daring. On the other hand, it just pissed both France and Germany. I don't think I'll be using it :P Generally, I think that England is the hardest nation to play in a gunboat. Very very hard to find allies.

once you moved out of belgium you suported holland into belgium an at that point i decided you were only going to be in my way and i went after you. i probably should have layed off later but i needed builds

After I moved out of Belgium to Holland, I supported YOU to Ruhr two turns in a row. The first turn after I moved out of Belgium you supported Germany to Holland.

Not a big deal, but it is just interesting how different your recollections are from the actual game.

Please finalise Italian orders in "I've got me a gunboat!-11"
Don't post here if you're a player in this game (gameID=89100), but if you're Italy and happen to read this, please finalise your orders instead of only saving them during each phase. It slows down the pace of the game greatly.

Addition to the rules to make the game more accurate:
Russia should be forced to not make any moves (civil disorder) during the year 1917. Additionally during the builds phase at the end of 1917, if Germany still controls all of its home centres, all territories belonging to Russia apart from St.Petersburg, Moscow, and Sevastopol, transfer ownership to Germany.

Cheating accusation button
It seems to me that there are cheating accusations on forum EVERY DAY. Often times there are more than one per day. This site is not really well set up in terms of people being able to figure out how they are supposed to handle this. Or at least, it's not well enough set up to prevent mulitple cheating accusations in the forum each week.

A Christmas Present for a Jewish/Atheist/Aesthete? The Great Gatsby 2012 Trailer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rARN6agiW7o
I have to be honest, I was really skeptical about this when my friends and I first heard about it...and I STILL don't get 1. Why the hell it's in 3-D (why does a period piece on tragedy of the American Dream need 3-D?) and I'm no Leo fan, and I don't see DiCaprio as Gatsby...and Luhrman is not my favorite director, but...all that said...this trailer gives me real hope, looks epic!
