I've just read Sarg's claim that I sent him angry private messages. I don't believe that happened. If I want to call him a Little Hitler or a dirtbag, I'll do it publicly so everyone knows what he is and stops enabling his bad behavior. I exchanged some messages with Stein, but not Sarg. Can someone tell me how to read old private messages so I can try to verify I never wrote him privately? Or, I may be proven wrong. I do have a bad memory. But I'd like to find out.

I think that everyone in this thread needs to calm down a bit. There's a lot of personal attacks and irrelevant anger being thrown around. If a player has a view so different from yours that it completely destroys your experience, just avoid that player if you can and let it be. I think everyone has made their case and won't budge, so there's really no reason to continue a discussion that only becomes personal and spiteful.

DILK, I'm sorry for your friend's loss. It's completely understandable, I certainly don't hold it against you and you're welcome to any of my games. As are Split, MadMarx, Dipper, Lando and Sarg, some of whom I disagree with partially or completely, some that I think are unnecessarily harsh, but I respect you all as players.

Click on the envelope next to the middle column and it will open up a two coloumn page of jast PMs and game messages. PMs then have their own column and you can see as far back as it goes. There is nothing beyond that I am aware of.

@Vaft: Thanks. For the record, my 'policy' on this isn't set in stone. It's just the way I am used to these things being dealt with here. I'm still a fairly new player here, only 1 year and a half, so I respect other people's views and would happy to develop something we all agree on. I just came to this thread to air my reasonings - as requested by rokakoma in a PM - not to initiate some debate about The Future of Gunboats. I don't understand the personal attacks but if people can't seperate a game from LIFE OR DEATH!! then that's their problem.

I was also deeply offended by DipperDon's constant reference to me here and in private as a Nazi - I got that kind of thing in British schools, as a half-German, but I didn't expect it here. It's utterly ridiculous. At least I've donated to this site.

If people want to come and be productive that's great and I welcome different opinions - but it seems too many people enjoy coming to moan or bitch at people, use offensive language and name-call rather than productively exchange opinions. It's really really a shame. These people should take whatever stress they've got in their lives out in a gym, not on an internet forum.

Again, not to overly dwell but asking people to use respectful language is one thing, but if you don't do that yourself how can you ask it of others?

I started here respectfully. My language to you was in response to what I perceived as the very petty ways you were trying to criticise me. As someone I would have always considered a 'friend' on the site, I am nothing but surprised, and spoke to you in the way I felt you were addressing me.

That's made obvious if you observe the difference between your messages and the communication between myself and MadMarx.

Sarg, I'm 3/4 German, so stuff that. You obviously don't know what a Little Hitler is, and don't have the sense to look it up. It has different meanings, but basically it describes someone who gets a little power or influence and starts enforcing rules as a dictator and telling them "Do it MY way, or you're in big trouble." And that is what you do on this site. You tell people your way is classy. That good players do it your way. That if people don't bow down and follow your orders, then they're not doing it right and aren't worthy to play with you. You ARE a Little Hitler, dude. It has nothing to do with being german. It is your personality and style on this site that I'm describing. And you use your influence to set up a Cancel agree with other players that I think you are using to your personal advantage. Deliberately and without remorse. And when someone challenges you, you sweep your arm and scatter the pieces so nobody can play. That is what you did by putting Turkey into civil disorder when it was obvious you were going to lose. What a baby.

I gladly host two new 7k games, in the first Sarg, Dilk, Czech cannot join (it's their punishment) in the second one anybody is welcome, especially them. They can be full anon (write me a PM if you want to remain unknown) or semi-anon, 25-36hours.

House rule: if you NMR we continue, if you CD we draw immidiately after you CDed. This rule is not up to discussion, by applying to any of the 2 games you automatically agree. If you don't like this rule, host your own game (which I would gladly join btw) but don't join this one.

In case of more than 7 applicants gunboat GR listing will be in effect, application date is Monday 18:00 UTC, meaning I will not close the list before deadline, even if we have the 7 players already If you apply in PM I'll add you to the end of the list as anonymous without disclosing your GR.

Just copy-paste the lists with adding your name:

So I found no record of any private message to Sarg, but did find some relatively mild exchanges with Stein/Draug at the time of the previous thread. So, he's making up the accusation that I sent him nasty private messages. But he's hiding behind the mute claim, so he will pretend he doesn't read this further proof that he's a lying dirtbag.

Since this is an EoG thread, and I just had 2 PMs with DILK why did I joined England I decided to share my answer here:

England opened very anti-french (EC+wales) showing a big commitment aganst France, and taking a big risk. I immidiately decided I will join him, so I bounced Russia, not to have a northern build and I went for belgium, hoping france don't want to piss me off by taking munich and having 2 enemies immidiately.

With this move we achived only 1 build for france and being not disturbed by russia. I knew I have to build just armies and England will realize his risk has paid off. France was doomed right after the very first move!

I think this is a very risky but a very effective opening from england if he has a germany like me :)

In case France had supported me into belgium, I might have changed my mind and team up with France, but I'm not so sure about that. I think there was basically no chance for france after 1901 spring :) which sounds quite funny.

I agree my S '01 moves were risky. It all depended on what you decided to do. Some players in your position as Germany would reward that commitment. Others might see it as a weakness and side with France. Once you built armies, France was doomed. And that is why his nmr really made no difference in the game.

When I saw your opening, I was sooo happy, I cannot explain :) I knew right away this will be our game :)

yeah, and then Sarg deliberately threw it in the toilet with his intentional civil disorder trying to get the game cancelled.

For which I still have not seen an apology. He still thinks it was okay for him to ruin the game. What a piece of work.

Players trying to judge whether I'm being too harsh about Sarg should also know that he isn't just refusing to play with me. When he found out I had previously built a reputation as a good ally by never stabbing after making an alliance, he proclaimed to everyone that I was cheating by not stabbing. He said I was not welcome on webdiplomacy and that I should go find somewhere else to play. That exemplifies the Little Hitler personality.

LOL! I sort of did the same thing too, DD. But backed off it when I realized you didn't say you never stabbed just that you tended to make solid alliances and we came around to realize we aren't that dissimilar in the end.
