Is the rumour that Kestas is considering adding a map for 2012 to this server true?

He said he was going to, but it would be one currently on vdip.

@ODaly Now that you mention it, it does. I just happened to find Canton first, although since Colonial is the official one, I'd say to add that one in.

It really isn't that hard to make a variant, most of the work is in making the map, espc now that the vdip labs are up and running you no longer have to do much programing by typing lists at all.

It depends on the type of variant you want to make.
A map variant like colonial or youngstown with no special rules is mostly just drawing a map and listing the territories.(ignoring the trans-siberian railway)

A information variant, like gunboat, fog of war, black/grey press or touch require no new map but a decent amount of coding.

Meanwhile a minor classic variant, like most of the ones i've done, and crowded or chaos, require neither a new map nor serious coding.

kestas should add chaos. that would be perfect for this site!!

WHOOHOO the Dutch are in it I'm in favor.

Colonial would probably be a good option - I mean it has classic appeal in that it has been around for a long time and had a board game release. However, the few times I have played I haven't really liked it. But I am not much of a variant guy.

Also, iirc the olidip version did not have the trans-siberian railroad coded in - has that changed?
