whoops. ignore mine :)

I tend to think there was a win there eventually for France, but it wasn't worth dragging it out another few hours.
whacky game. Lots of fun.

jemeyersed, when russia got behind you it seemed pretty clear for me you cant win. When turkey got out to mid atlantic my feeling just got stronger.

altough turkey scared me when he started attacking italy/russia ... luckily it wasn't that bad at all...

Russia:
when you debuilt warshaw i was pretty scared, you should have debuilt finland and then we would have a very strong stalemate line. This way it was a bit tougher :)

All in all, I think we pretty much understood eachother :)

yes, but once Russia had to disband Finland i was able to destroy his fleet. I would have gotten his second one on the next turn. at that point, i would have had 5 fleets to turkey's two in the atlantic, and since i was passed the stalemate line all over the map, all i had to do was pick up iberia and lvp.
woulda been close but i think it was there. about 10 years later :)
I love that game. Very entertaining. Hehe....I was literally screaming when Italy retreated to Naples instead of Tunis that I left open for him!

I really enjoyed the game. I think most realised that my disbands of Warsaw and Rum were purely to force France to accept the draw. The thorns i deliberately put behind his line would eventually force the draw as long as the units had sc's to support them

That was one of the best gunboats I've ever been involved with. Thanks everyone!

jmeyerd: maybe, but there was a chance italy/turkey get you home SCs, than wherever you are, you can't build, not force them to debuild ...

Anyway, it would have been interesting to continue, also I think we could have force you behind the stalemate line, since I was getting a new build into budapest, making you to leave vienna...

Sorry Spell of Wheels. I understood the offer the other way around. I was screaming when Russia disbanded Warsaw, but it turned out just ok eventually :-)

Turkey: yeah that naples reatreat looked strange to me.

Russia: sorry for letting france get warshaw, but i figured out, I move back to galicia+ukrane than we can hold that line FOREVER. Sadly, I guess jmeyersd figured it out too :D

I disbanded Warsaw as I knew you could take it and My thorns were far more likely to cause a draw then us actually making it back to the stalemate line which he had already passed. It was a tough call though.
Finland and Heligoland both tied up his resources trying to 2nd guess me on 6 centres!
Fog of War, Dudlajz....with decisions all to be made in 5 minutes.

Thank for everyone, I really enjoyed it as well, but italy pleeeese never attack austria. If austria and italy leave eachother alone they have chances.

In 1904 you could have attacked france easlily, and if you took a look at the big map, you have seen I was supportholding you, and not attacking trieste.

Thanks again, I love how the map looks now :)

Spell of Wheels: yeah, it was a tough but really good game!

Rokakoma: Sure, I usually never do this when playing Italy and I looked at the big map. But I felt somehow totally stucked and just went for it. Never mind. One has to change even the most basic customs from time to time :-)

Dudlajz; agree no strict rules, you always have to adapt and find new solutions. I was so angry at you, all I wated is not let you to have my SCs :) Luckily turkey came out to ionan, that saved me :)
Hehe...and I was sweating Russia seeing an opportunity against me. France growing so quickly was probably what saved me from that.
Dudlajz (2659 D)

I know that austrian feeling of total despair and anger very good :-) But thanks to the circumstances you managed to come back very nicely. I was counting that you would´t have been able to hold for another year. But the French builds and Turkish breakthroug changed it from the ground. Anyway that was just when it started to get interesting :-)

Should +1 bump a thread?
In light of all the new uses for the +1 feature, should it also bump a thread? The con would be that the front page would have threads without new replies while new replies might be buried. Thoughts?

A Tribute to Mr. Calhamer
Draugnar pointed out that this is the creator of Diplomacy's 80th birthday coming up this December 7th and I've got an idea on how we can say thanks in a way that shows him just how many and how far his game has captured across the world.

Hypothetical move
Let's assume that St. Petersburg is surrounded. Norway and Finland are going to support Barents Sea in. Armies in Livonia and Moscow could support the hold in St. Pete's, but a German army may cut Livonian support. If St. Petersburg hits Norway to cut support, and Moscow supports Livonia into St. petetersburg, would everyone bounce?

Weird glitch.
I imputed my orders. And none of them went through. Does this happen often. It has caused me to drastically change a game that I was winning.

I am also playing on another Dip site that shall remain nameless and have noticed from looking at game history that 2 of the players in my game almost always play together and seem to always be allies. What should I do?

Are discussions of banned players allowed on the forum?
Obviously cheating accusations aren't, but I seem to recall hearing that we're allowed to discuss players banned for cheating openly, and I'm curious as to the story behind some of the recently-banned players... seems like some familiar names are out.
