Defeated in a game which was won by a later banned player...

... is there any chance to get my bet/points back or what happens with the points the multi player gets? I have to admit that only one player of the game got banned so he might have not cheated in this game. But I'd like to know in general what happens with the finished games in which cheaters were involved...

Sportsmanship in the game of diplomacy

What virtues or actions could be considered to be in the spirit of sportsmanship, and what against it. Do you have someone who could be nominated to be in one category or other. Braking the rules of the site is not to be considered part of anti-sportsmanship, so only legal actions can be named.

Sportsmanship in my experience would be to grant pause to people in need, to try to find replacement for CD county even though you would get easy centres if there is no replacement, to apply as a sitter for someone, to behave with respect to everyone...

Anti-sportsmanship would be: to blackmail someone who requested emergency pause that that you will pause only after the current turn and only if country that asked for the pause will not stab you, to refuse to unpause the game because you are losing, to uncover personal information about someone in order to press him to do what you want...

@Dejan - all three examples of unsportsmanlike conduct are illegal metagaming on the site. The first example is using out of game circumstances to influence the game illegally and will get you in trouble. The second example is irrelavent because the mods will forcibly unpause the game if you try it (it's called the draugnar rule after I forced a draw that way :-) ) and the third example of blackmail is actually very criminal in pretty much the entire free world.

I would instead define unsportsmanlike conduct as cussing someone out for stabbing you, refusing to play in a game with another player because they have beaten you in previous games, joining a game with the knowledge that you will need several pauses during the course of the game, joining a game and then CD'ing (without reason), refusing to finalize orders because you are losing (when you are not attempting to talk with other players), etc.

Refusing to pause unless someone performs a specific action? Hell yeah that's illegal metagaming. I'll let a mod chime in for certain, but I don't see how it could be anything except illegal metagaming.

From the rulebook section under the help link.

5. The Pause/Unpause feature is not a diplomatic tool
The pause is there to stop players missing their orders, but is not part of the game. As such pausing or unpausing should not be used for diplomatic gain, such as refusing to unpause unless other players will draw the game. If it is being abused staff may step in to sort it out.

I wouldn't have started another thread on the topic of delay if I had noticed this, my bad.

I think intentional delay of game is bad sportsmanship.

Game drawn

Is it possible to draw a game with a clear stalemate line in which one nation has refused to draw even though the same exact moves have been made by everyone for many turns? And there is clearly no way to break the lines besides an NMR or an attack between the allied powers which has not happened in years and will not happen since it is a WTA.

Error triggered: Division by zero.
This was probably caused by a software bug. The details of this error have been successfully logged and will be attended to by a developer.
Got this when I tried to go from page 6 to page 7 of the open games.

Need replacements for banned players

A gunboat WorldDip game, Metal Swarm, needs two substitutes for players who were banned. Argentina and Western Canada are vacant. No turns have been missed and the positions are decent. Low buy-in.

Fuck viruses.

I'm sending this from a school computer in the lab. Just wanted to apologize to everyone for the crapload of games I CDed out of. I'm not going to be able to pick those up for some time because my laptop is f-f-f-f-fucked and I can't get down here consistently enough to play a good game.

Can the Frequency Factor in the Arrhenius model

...for chemical kinetics be modeled for liquids? I know how the scientific community is all into calculating the activation energy but how about A?
