| Autumn, 1903: I have now offered to work with Italy three times up to this point in attempting to break the stranglehold Austria has on the eastern sphere. He has lied to me three times in an attempt to gain my centers at the expense of my trust. He is in an extremely vulnerable position and can be capitalized on by Austria, France, and Germany. I have most recently stated that if Italy does lies to me a third time, that I will allow Austria to walk into my centers unhindered, while he gains nothing. Austria, to prove to Italy that I was not being false in this statement, I invite you to walk into Con as well as Bulgaria (not that you need much invitation to do so there). If Italy has seen fit to put so much trust in Austria, let's see if that trust carries him through the onslaught of France and Austria once I'm gone. |
