There has been a lot of debate about this. A lot of people think that any games which were won by a multi should be cancelled, and everyone else get their points back, and their record left unblemished. I would probably agree to that.

I seem to recall that the official line is that this would be very difficult / time consuming for the mods as they would need to sift through loads of games going back way into the past.

I left the site for 15 months primarily because I was in an anon live game that had 4 friends playing an unbreakable alliance. They were extremely obvious in their moves and when their names were revealed 2 of them had the same name, xxx1 and xxx2. They were banned but the game stood. I didn't care about the points, but I didn't like what it did to my win/loss record not to mention the plummet of my Ghost ranking. I guess it took me that long to quit caring about things.

Maybe it's time we rattle our sabre again and rock the boat/tilt the cart until they start listening to reason (or irrationality, whichever gets the job done).

I took over a game once where the people were sharing accounts and passwords. Cheating has to be really obvious to get someone kicked out. I can't imagine what it has to be.

That's why I prefer non-anonymous games. You can look through people's histories and figure out the cheaters. Kinda makes it fun.

Unfortunately, there is currently no recourse for this. We are, of course, always willing to listen to suggestions, though.

@Anne - were there any CDs in the game? If so, the banned cheater may have had his multis CD so he could steal their SCs.

I won a game once that had 4 multis.

I remember someone explaining once why this was but I don't recall the exact reason. I think it was either something about mods not being able to cancel finished games or something about not wanting to cause database errors. Does anyone remember/know?

All games that have banned players in them should be automatically cancelled.
