I'm very new to this so I was foolish enough to sign up for games despite taking vacations this summer. I'm going to be gone from Sunday to Thursday and I'm not sure if I can get a pause in all of my games so if someone would be willing to submit moves for me (or at least a move so I don't CD) I would be very grateful. Reply and I'll PM you my password.

Sorry about this, I'll be more careful signing up for games in the future.

And The Good Is Oft Interred With His Bones...Lest Ye A Weed Smoker Be! (Wait, WHAT?)
http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/06/23/did-shakespeare-smoke-weed/ Me being me, I had to post this. I mean, what phrase marks his tomb? "Good frend for Jesus sake forebeare,/ To digg the dust encloased heare;/ Bleste be the man that spares thes stones,/ And curst be he that moves my bones." Just ask Macbeth and Caesar about Shakespeare's curses...anyone REALLY want to take that chance? ;) (And for what? To see if he smoked weed? Let the rest be silence, PLEASE!)

Interesting how 2 players CD'ed in 1901... I saw some weird moves in the beginning with Italy/Austria.

I see, Neodamura has been in a lot of games with Tyrrenhien, and Tyrrenhien usually places underneath Neodamura. I don't think there's any 100% proof of metagaming from a brief glance at the games, but I suppose it is a possibility.

Please don't post cheating accusations in the forum, it's not the appropriate place for them.

If you have any suspicions, e-mail the mods at [email protected].
Scmoo472 (1933 D)
24 Jun 11 UTC
I do believe that I have not accused anyone of anything, I have merely asked a question based on a game. If you are inferring that I have accused them of anything, than it would in turn be yourself who is posting the accusation of cheating, not me, as I have said nothing of the sorts.
Alderian (2425 D(S))

You may not be dragging their names through the mud, but you've got their names by the collar and are holding them out over the mud and asking everyone else if they should be drug through the mud and encouraging such mud-through-dragging. The net effect is the same and you are not supposed to do it. So send the email and let this thread drop.

Your right. I was being safe. I have not played on this site for very long, and there is another site that hosts Diplomacy, and over there if you email an accusation of cheating and it turns out false they ban you. I didn't want that to happen here (Don't even know if they do, the "Help" feature helps with In-game problems like moving), So I was being safe by asking for the communities response, but that isn't Ok I guess. I intentionally tried to word it this way to get someones response, not to have people flame it like it was a witch.

Sorry, the community is quite prone to overreact to cheating accusations on the forum. We get them all. the. time. And it's annoying.

Generally, I get far more bothered if someone has well over 100 D, because in my mind, that means they should likely know better.

" and over there if you email an accusation of cheating and it turns out false they ban you."

Are you serious? That's rather draconian. The mods here have no problem with players asking them to check games, but please do it in a discrete fashion (via email) to prevent slandering innocents.
Scmoo472 (1933 D)
24 Jun 11 UTC
That is why I left there and came here. Rules there were a little to strict. And there was no forum on the side so you could advertise games without loading an entire new tab/window. :)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it was PlayDiplomacy?

The mods here are very relaxed and carefully consider the situation before any action is taken. The forum can get a bit rowdy, but their bark is worse than their bite : )
That game was fucked, not the least bit because of me passing out. X_X I'm really sorry about CDing there.

As for the game, having looked at the (very little) press I got and the board... send the e-mail to be sure, you might have a case, but it's iffy.

And yeah don't post these on the forum again please

dude, they tactically played pretty good. there is little i suspect because of their coordination in trying to stop both England and Turkey
Well since apparently we can discuss this game now that someone brought it up, I think we should note that the players in question have played a lot of games together. In fact, one of the players has only played one game without his "partner".
We shouldn't be talking about the allegation anymore, guys. The game can be discussed, but stay away from hinting at cheating, alright?

@zultar: Not in the help-I've-fallen-and-can't-get-up way, nothing dramatic. I stayed up all night because I couldn't sleep and sleep hit me about 10 minutes before the game started...

@Scmoo: Oh hush, you. =P I'll teach YOU a lesson. gameID=62380

@Ninja - Let's say I go vigilante and put someone in the hospital because I believe they raped my wife. I get charged with the crime and have to pay the penalty. While I'm away, someone else decides to go to the accused rapist's room and beat the shit out of him. Does that make it OK for everyone else to go there and beat the living fuck out of him? No. The first action was wrong. The second action was even more wrong because the first action had been found to be wrong. So all the following actgions *would still be wrong*.

Oh, and the mods have stated before that veiled accusations on the forum (i.e. asking others if you think there is something suspicious) is still a violation of the rule and they *will* dock points for it.

Time Limit
Is there a way to make a game with a time limit either in game years (ie 1913) or a real date (ie 7/13/11 at midnight)?

Besides the interest as a variant it would make it easier to avoid NMRs by having the game end before a trip

Not Voting Pause If It Means The Win
Playing at Boston made me realise how many outside factors there are to the original game. There are many other ways to lie, decieve, and trick. There are some here too that get utilised, like waiting until the last second to enter orders so your opponent makes moves against an NMR that fail. But what about NOT pausing?

Sitter or Pause needed
I will be going away tonight on an unexpected work trip and will return on Sunday night. I will have no access to internet whatsoever where I am going so I will be unable to log in any moves. If someone can sit for me it would be great, I have a few gunboat games going on. I would ask that whomever sits for me winds the clock down every turn so I do not miss that many moves. Thanks.
