1. It does affect the game because everyone knows that you are not England.
2. Everyone becomes aware of your problem with England and this could encourage a metagaming of sorts.
3. "Fuck it, three armies" directly addresses in game decisions that, as the game is a gunboat, are strictly forbidden to be discussed. If England read that message he may change or rethink his strategy and if other players saw it they may see a weakness they had not previously thought of or decide that they will attack England along with you, who is clearly annoyed.

All of these reasons affect the game despite you considering your comments only idle chatter.

What is it about the rules you don't like zakthediplomat / thatonekid?
What is it about the rules that makes you think you are above them or that they don't matter to you?

Don't create multi accounts or metagame. Don't discuss ongoing gunboats in the forum. Please respect the rules of this community.

At this point, the mods are relying on the community to enforce forum morals. How we do that is a subject for discussion.

Sargmacher (0 DX)

Exactly, which is why I decided to go against my previous judgement and address zakthediplomat / thatonekid and make my post.

I admit it was a struggle not to include a staple Draugnar line though.

No, Matt, they won't. Because the OP frequently bumps them.

And I think it does more good for us to point out the rules every time they are broken than it does to just let things pass without comment.

As in most games, clock control is a very valid tactic. Especially if you suspect some of your opponents have approaching bedtimes. Sure, it's really douchy, but it's a valid tactic.

Maybe it's time for 3 minute turns to become an option. Of course, I like the ability to take the odd restroom break or trip to the fridge.

perfect logic, glad to have your opinion heard.

@sarg: whatever makes you feel good about yourself

@all: if you ever come close to defeating Sargmacher, you are cheating, even if you arent, you are, you just dont know it.
Sargmacher (0 DX)
16 Mar 11 UTC
You keep slandering my name and in almost all other cases I have not retorted because:
a. You are not worth it.
b. I have faith that most people here will judge my character and your character and that I will come out clear.

However, since I have entered discussion on this topic, I want to address what you have said.

1. Accusing someone of cheating is very serious, I don't make habit of it and when I am beaten by competent players, I would like to think that I am always congratulatory and sportsmanlike.
2. In the game you mention, you openly admitted to using the two other accounts of your 'friends' to help you in that game. That is why the game was ended.
3. You were banned on your previous account for multi-accounting/metagaming.

Clearly, this proves that you were cheating and that I was right.
Sargmacher (0 DX)
16 Mar 11 UTC
As a point of reference for anyone unaware of thatonekid's previous main account. Search for 'zakthediplomat'.

Also, in the Live Games thread, there is a post by zakthediplomat listing all the accounts of his 'friends' and 'brothers' that he helped create and are associated with him. This acts as further evidence.
thatonekid (0 DX)
16 Mar 11 UTC
proves nothing.
me and karson knowing each other doesnt constitute cheating.
the game me and my brother got banned in was for using the same computer, even though it was clear we werent working together and we both voted to draw or cancel when a player missed their phases.
gameID=50766 me:england, brian:russia
with the complete and utter lack of evidence let alone proof, i feel pretty good in saying that ive never cheated nor do i intend to because it isnt fun if you know youll win, in fact it fucking sucks if its always the same, like playing the first level of galiga over and over.
i cut out the 'i admitted to you' because its not what i fucking said, i told you that i knew karson from school and that we'd played together before, nothing more, nothing less.
so whatever feeling of accomplishment you get for targeting scapegoats, i hope you enjoy it, because clearly you dont enjoy much at all if youre willing to whine and moan for hours on the internet for someone you think is cheating, even when its clear they arent.
Look at all the points and wins Sargmacher has. He must be cheating. It is the only logical explanation.

thatonekid has almost no points nor wins. No way he cheats.
Since I see something I wrote being referenced... Did I help break a rule by saying "Fuck it, three armies"? I wasn't in this game, didn't look at the board, wasn't trying to actually talk about the details of it... I was trying to make a stupid joke. But now I'm seeing how it COULD have been read, and I apologize for adding to the confusion.

@thatwasawkward:

I wasn't sure if you were joking, commenting or what. So it probably didn't do much harm. But I would never talk about an ongoing game, as a rule, especially a gunboat.
Yeah, I suppose even a joke about one can be construed in an unintended fashion. Case and point right here, obviously. Lesson learned!

If you think about it though, it is pretty funny. England building three armies. I wonder if that has ever happened...
I've seen it. And done it, likely.
Marcher (100 D)

I was in the game. Everyone went for the early leader, which was me as Germany, by accident, as I missed the first turn's orders and another one later. England herocially defended Austria's interest, but I often do similar against an early leader. He was a docile little bitch though.
SacredDigits (102 D)

I've built three armies as England. I'd just finished France and needed to deal with Germany, so Edi went across the Norwegian to Norway, London across the North to Holland, and Liverpool over to Yorkshire for future convoying.

i have to side with sarg in the argument in the earlier posts, i wasnt aware that @thatonekid and @zakthediplomat were the same person and im gald i know that now. i have played with zak before and there was always something odd going on with him, he would say things almost as if he were speaking for more than one power and when i messaged the other powers he mentions they said nearly the same exact thing with different ways of wording it so i suspected something was up. i have nothing against him but since i know that now i will pay closer attention to that if i play a game with him again.

gunboat 11-3-11 Question
I just checked out this game in the New listings, and it shows four players @200 each, but the total is @1000. What kind of new math is that? I signed up just for a minute to see if the total would adjust, but with me there were five total players and the total showed @1200. There's an extra @200 there. Anyone have an explanation?
