No one's first resonse was 'shut the fuck up' in this thread. The word didn't come up until Chester repeated the accusation and you became belligerent and accused MattG of metagaming with his non-existant roommates.

And there is a huge difference between roommates and coworkers. You spend all your free time with your mates. Most people spend very little free time with their coworkers. The time spent with coworkers is usually working with an occassional lunch.

BUT, I totally agree with you on the issue of not posting cheating accusations. If it is against the rules, people shouldn't post. I haven't said anything to the contrary in my messages. :)

Yes my point was about talking to each other in a respectful way - you have your freedom of speech - my point was just that the 'Community' shouldn't be spoken of as if everyone is unanimous on the way members are treated by other members. I don't deny that you don't have the ability to swear here - just don't do it in my name and don't do it and expect people like Chester to then give a damn about what you say.

RE Playing with coworkers, I've stated the rules- I'm not sure how you are able to have a discussion as to what the rules are given that I've been (I think) totally clear.

For the sake of clarity: the only rule in the book about friends, relatives, coworkers etc. is:

"You can't make alliances for reasons outside a game, such as because you are friends, relatives or in return for a favour in another game."

That's it. You don't have to declare it at the start of the game if you just want to quietly play by the rules.

I don't think room-mates should play together in public invite games. If they do decide to ally I think the ability to stand together in the same room and talk about the game would be a big advantage.

Yes cheating is bad, and yes ideally mods should do something about it. But really, isn't the best way to deal with cheating simply to beat the cheaters while playing by the rules?

True Chessy, but you need to understand something here...my friend mr. forum doesn't like to be posted on things that have to do with cheating. especially with people that are playing in a game...mr. forum doesn't like whiners OR complainers. Pooooor mr. forum is tired of the same old shit and would LOOOVE for some good quality discussion. ALSO, mr. forum, does not apreciate the constant bitching going on around here...so chessy, lets stop posting cheating accusations, and instead, send a nice little request to the moderators because they can take a peek, and when they take a peek, they take a peek, and if they don't find anything wrong...well whooopdidoo there's nothing wrong and you are being a poor sport. this my friend, is why all us educated diplomacy player do background checks on people we play with. that's what passwords are for if you are so concerned.
