There seems to be a problem with inputting orders, so I have suspended the processing etc.

The error I know about is:

Error triggered: Trying to get property of non-object.

This was probably caused by a software bug. The details of this error have been successfully logged and will be attended to by a developer.

It might be interesting to know if anyone is able to input orders.

Not here. Same trouble.

I was unable to enter orders in one game, but successfully managed to do so in another.

I can input orders...
Changed, saved and finalized 30 seconds ago.

Now it has worked for me too.

Our JavaScript could give more descriptive error messages, but since the code hasnt changed and this is a fairly run of the mill outage *hopefully* this should continue to clean itself up, probably as missing caches get rebuilt etc

Either way TGM will be back in an hour and will un-panic the processor if everything has settled (and possibly use targeted pauses for any persistent stragglers if there are isolated problems)

If Dreamhost write back with anything worthwhile on the causes/resolution I'll post it here. Sorry for the inconvenience, thanks for your patience,

I can view games and the forum but still not the homepage - there might be some people that try to view the homepage but can't, and assume the whole site is down. Shouldn't we hold off on processing games until that is fixed?

hopsyturvy, I would guess you can't view your homepage because you have a game that was paused and then the extended time on the pause causes an error. That's what I've seen and experienced in the past.

Do you know if you had any paused games?

Just an FYI: l am able to Join games (but not leave them) despite this message after l join: (Can't leave game; joining/leaving games disabled while a problem is resolved.)

Ah, that must be it. We had a live game, 6 of 7 had voted to cancel it after the downtime, maybe it got automatically paused when Ghost added the extra time? Or maybe 6 people voted pause really quickly ;)

abge, it is impossible to resume processing with the banner at the top.

I resumed it, then the error was reported, so I stopped it again.


The processing has been started up again now.

I saw the manner and also this post that said things had been resumed, so I wasn't sure what order things happened.

@hopsyturvey, I believe that when time is added, live games are automatically force paused since the game is completely disrupted by the downtime.

I tried resetting the process time, forcing it unpaused and then resetting the process time, and even changing the phase length to 1 day, and get the same error every time. So this may be something Kestas has to correct via the database.

I've forwarded it to kestas. The issue is that the phaselength of a paused game was changed, which screws everything up. I kept on creating that error with the Masters games early on.

I've run the SQL which fixes that pause problem.. must track that down when I get a chance
