It does seem that there are a lot of conservatives and libertarians on this site. I wonder why?

Somehow I don't see a conservative woman using twat, especially when referring to their self. But hey, free speech for everyone on an internet forum.

There's always the stereotypical warmonger neocon. Considering it's a war game website, there actually may be some like this around. (I don't suppose that explains the size of the conservative/libertarian population here.)

Maybe it's because I don't read too much on the political threads (though I would like to do more of it), but this place struck me as being balanced politically. I assume this is helped by the fact that you have a significant American presence and significant European presence, the former likely constituting the more conservative bloc and the latter the liberal bloc. (Again, argument from stereotype.)

Heh. Then again I'm in a liberal arts program, as a cultural anthropology student, (which tends to have a lot of left wing radical types, myself included), at a very liberal university, in one of the more liberal cities, in Canada, so it might just be that compared to what I'm used to there's more conservatives than in other places where I socialize.

That seems silly, if you'll pardon me saying so. The constitution was written in the late 18th century. As a document it predates the industrial revolution. Why is it we seem to be assuming that a document from a totally different historical era can still be taken completely at face value today. We live in a totally different world from the founding fathers who wrote the constitution and I think we need to recognize that.
