Something interesting ideas the book elaborated on...
-Take Link as he is in the game, any of the games, or, if you've never played LOZ (in which case, I'd recommend it, I'm not at all hardcore and enver finish, even, but I enjoy it and the games can be fun and are notorious for being "deep" and "thinking-person's games") Generic Video Game Character. Now that character has three lives, and Link/GVGC falls off a cliff- is he gone? You have more lives, so the game continues, but that particular character... what IS he? Does HE continue, or is it just the game... and taken on with YOU, say your body dies, but you "continue"... what IS that?
-Turning the game off... death with nothing left? Black screen, so Link is "gone," it looks like death with nothingness... what must that be like, nothingness?
-IS that really nothingness, turning the game off? Link is still "saved" via game file on the cartridge and saved game... so if all the data, hiss essence or soul is saved on the catridge, what is it THEN when you turn off the game?
-Suppose the cartidge is damaged: what then?
What is Link's "body?"
Is it seperate from is "mind/soul/essence/saved game data?"
Can one live without the other?
What IS death?
By extension, then, what is LIFE?
And then, of course... all that applied from thypothetical device (Link) to real life (us.)
What are the answers to those questions for US?
