@OB - I was going to say the same, how people can get such an analisys with one post.

@Prado - It matters because in day 1 when we have almost nothing to base our votes it's likely anyone with 3 or 4 votes will end as a possible wagon at EOD. It's a lot different then putting one pressure vote into someone to make him talk or explain something.

Can you point to where he's trying to appease people? What I see is surface niceness, which usually has the singular purpose of getting people to discuss you.

Bo and Prado: Yes, the post was a little overly obsequious. Perhaps it borders on weird. Does it warrant starting a wagon? If he got a scum role, would he be so overtly servile in a post? It's just a flimsy reason to run the wagon on him. Maybe that's all that's needed on D1 tho.

What kind of drives me nuts about mafia are the folks leaping to all kinds of odd conclusions with sketchy evidence. I'm sure it all makes to all of you, but it's opaque to us noobs.

Because he has nothing to latch onto and is just trying to make an awkward introduction to act like he's here while he waits. Duh.

I mean that is essentially the entire premise of the game and what makes it fun. If the evidence was obvious it wouldn't be much of a game would it?

Its also weird that this drives you nuts. Does it drive you nuts because you are scum and I happen to have gotten lucky and voted for you (even if my evidence was sketchy)?

Yeah. I mean sketchy might not have been the best word, but certainly its not overwhelming. I do believe it was suspicious that he posted early in the game thread - and can definitely see a newish player getting access to the mafia qt and then thinking the game was open as well.

I'm really certain Tom is scum. It's just something I don't know what. But it's something. Not sure if it's just the wording but some of the messages almost have a deflecting tone. Gut is usually right.

Kench - like I said he might be scum but right now I think he's just a friendly talkative person in general I played the sim with him and that was his defining trait, very outgoing and very talkative.

Can you explain your townreads on me and bo? Are they gut/tone things like Tom? Is it because we've questioned Tom? Are there other specific actions? What about your OB read?

I'd rather not on those because I'm not confident I want to see if the flags go away or continue. Hope you don't mind? Just if you are the 30% chance I feel you may be and I tell you why I feel that way you could just alter behavior. I'd rather not tell you why until I'm confident like I am with Tom.

@bo - Its possible, sure. But I mean he clearly didn't read the setup thread regardless of his role because it was clear that the game start was at 6pm. And he clearly didn't read the first post in this thread, because it makes it clear the game doesn't start until 6pm.

What makes you think he read his role PM close enough to notice it said you can post in the mafia qt in the 6 hours leading up to the game? Maybe he got the link to the mafia qt and assumed the game started. Maybe he just chose not to read, but I think my rationale is plausible.

Deflecting tone = above message. Maybe I'm just misreading but "you're gut feeling is letting you down" is to me a deflecting tone. Again a lot of this may be simple gut reaction but right now I'm pretty confident and in my line of work my gut doesn't lead me astray.

It make sense for you to keep pushing the issue with bo, it's deflecting from yourself but to me it just makes you more sketchy.
