##Vote Tom

I recall cryptic nothingness from Oztra two games ago when he was town, I sense a different tone here trying harder to suggest his frame of reference.

Why are you voting me Byron?

Hard to read too much into guak's early anchor posts, I just felt I should put forward how the stark contradiction between them struck me as odd.

*shrugs* 3 letter names upset me. Something to do with my childhood. The two people who abused me the most both had 3 letter names... mom . Dad.

@y2k Thanks for your comments! I'm not sure what I said that came across defensive, but there we go. Of course, I have the right to defend myself, but hopefully that's different from "being defensive" - to me the latter has a very different, almost "offensive", connotation. And, of course, if I choose not to defend myself, then I'll no doubt get tarred with the "not talking enough, must therefore be scum" brush - which is precisely the brush I was attempting to avoid by providing a disclaimer for any potential absence. What joy, what irony!

In all honesty, you have no more on me than I have on you - that is to say, nothing. The logic for voting for me is as good as your earlier suggestion of voting for you "because you were scum in the first one". But that's fine, in this first phase why would you have anything more than a gut feeling to go on? And, to be fair, your gut is far more likely to be right than mine, because you've been playing since at least the first one!

All I'm saying is, I'd prefer that you called a spade a spade and voted for me because of a gut feeling, not because of some apparent logic - there really can't be any logic yet. And if I do follow the crowd, it's at least in part because other people have been doing this inductive reasoning malarkey a lot longer than I have!

That's not to say that I will follow the crowd. Only that I might...

My hunch is that you're in a position where you feel it's more important to justify your actions than start figuring out who is scum. I know we have no information now but we have to start somewhere.

@y2k well that's fair enough, I have no problem with you starting with me. If I might briefly take action to justify the justification of my actions: I'm just answering questions. And before that, I was just saying hi and explaining that I might be out of sync with the rest of the players - both of those seemed important to me while I'm considering what other people have said...

I liked Y2K push after Kench (because pushing people is the only way to get info at this point) and I also like Kench reaction. I really dislike the remarks about Oztra and Guak. Seems like someone trying to look like being super scum hunting.

Tom looks like a logic and reasonable guy and this makes me worry after M29 :-)

I'm going to be pretty blunt: I don't think it's Kench.. he just talks to much. Just got done playing a sim with him and he is very talkative. Just a character trait not really a flag imho

@CB I am trying to curb my enthusiasm, but I'm just a pretty naturally verbose kind of guy so I apologise in advance if that winds anyone up!

@Rivera I'm glad that my reaction was acceptable. Out of interest, what is it about Tom being a logical and reasonable guy that makes you worried?

@Byron - You voted Tom. He is already at 4 votes, so it's not a pressure vote or a joke. Care to explain why are you voting him?

@Kench - In M29 he was logic and reasonable and won the game for scum after we catch all the other Mafia players in the first days.

@Rivera Oh I see! Although, I suppose logic and reason are character traits more than anything else and would likely be employed regardless of which side he was on? I've not played with anyone before, but it would seem a really obvious tell if someone were to be logical and reasonable when one thing, and completely unpredictable when the other. Should probably also bear in mind that the first vote for Tom was made by Bo less than a minute out of the gates - which suggests a slight knee-jerk reaction. I'm not saying he's wrong, just that it bears taking with at least a pinch of salt...

Actually, I've looked at that again. He voted for Tom Brady not Tom Bombadil. So we should probably completely ignore that vote unless Bo confirms it...

Honestly just my gut.

Byron: When you say that you don't think its Kench, do you mean that you don't think Kench is mafia?

@Kench - You got a point on Bo's vote. The bot took the $$vote Tom Brady as a vote on Tom. And I think it's just a joke, but some people were eager to jump on it. And my comment about Tom is also a kind of a joke, he is always reasonable and this makes him a great player either as town or scum.

Also, out of interest, why is Spirit's being nice a sign of their scuminess?

Hey ghug, what do you think of Spirit, Kench, CB, and some of the other newcomers/non-regulars?

Kench is probably town. Spirit isn't a newcomer but he's buddying me so I'm a fan. I see an actual desire to figure out what's going on with the game from Byron, which is a good sign.

Ogion seems dumb but idk about actual alignment.
