After going back over everything, it might be possible that y2k is the mutant after all. uclabb led the charge and called a lot of attention towards y2k, and the next thing we know uclabb ends up dead. Now, uclabb flipped guilty, so it turned out that we viewed all of his moves as suspect, but I'm not seeing much of anything apart from minor suggestions that something is off about uclabb that would lead to ghug killing him. That means the mutant did so, and what reason makes more sense than self-preservation? I understand if you don't want to buy it coming from me, PJ, but I'm not the mutant, and if y2k is, then it means guak is the last lizard.
The problem is that apart from the possible early bus tactic linking y2k to uclabb, there's not much that definitively marks y2k as one scum or the other. It's a hard bus on day 1, even if it seems in retrospect to have been relatively safe to do so. He seems more like a lizard to me because of the connections he's got, but guak certainly fits as a scum as well.
