Ops, looks like I started a whole discussion before going to bed. No, I don't invite complete strangers home usually. I have done it with men, but that's different. But mostly I date people I've gotten to know a bit. It's rare that I just ask a complete stranger out.

With men it's easier, while there is a certain gay mating dance, you can also be very frank and simply say "I'm not looking to jump into bed straight away" or "I really just want some sex", and it's not creepy or cockteasy or insulting or anything else, just cards on the table.

taos, no, it's not only based on sex. But since the gay community is outside of regular society, there's a ton of baggage and gender roles etc. that gay people don't have to put up with. Instead, we can just openly say "I want to fuck you" or "I'm interested in dating you". No playing each other, no charades, no slut-shaming as we have with forward women, no passivity that we have with insecure women, most of all, open communication instead of trying and failing to read subtle body signals since it's not socially acceptable among straight people to just say "Hey, I want to fuck you". Of course not every gay person is functional, rational and able to communicate, but it's a lot more common.

Once again, I have to add that I don't speak for the entire gay community of the world, these are just my experiences.
