Wow, interesting to see all this talking while I was away and could not read it. Well, firstly, congratulation on your efforts to make the tournament happen, specially to th ghostmaker, whose suggestions are very well thought and wise.
Anyway, as it's been pointed out, individual suggestions fired at point blank won't exactly help the development of this idea. However, I feel obliged to defend the WTA system and whatever comes out of it.
And regarding anonymous games.. They should be really interesting. And if you organise the tournament in a way people from the same team can play together, and they do know they are in same game, the best player will prevail, and surely it will be interesting to see how the two members of the team behaved in the game. [Always assuming that people won't cheat; after all, Diplomacy is a game of gentlemen.]
To the useful part of the post... I believe it is quite possible to organize the Portuguese-speaking Team, and I reckon the portuguese-speaking community in here might get interested. Having that in light, just don't forget the we exist =D
