@y2k: I think the biggest tell a SK has is usually a need to survive, contrary to townies who don't care as much since they can die and still win. Other than that it is all a crapshoot I guess. damian on M2 played a really great SK as he was top town read for most of the game. It was quite interesting that he always posted poor reads during the day, but managed to kill scum overnight. That makes me think that the SK probably is kind of lazy with his case building as he can just kill his preferred targets at night. On the other hand, PE played a terrible SK on M3, though that was mostly because it is the worst possible role for such a public enemy as PE. He managed to gain a lot of suspicion early on and then he pulled his roleclaim strategy that bosox tried to replicate recently. Overall I think that it is extremely difficult to SK hunt, but we should all be on the lookout to see who is being lazy with case building. Other than that, I think ghug is right in saying that the best way to weed out the mutant is to establish a solid town core through role claims and that it will be much easier to do that once the third scum is found.

@Y2 - I wouldn't worry about scum hunting during the night. We could lose three guys tonight so building cases now against people who could get bumped off is pretty pointless. In the morning there is likely to be some role claims. If the Vig shoots his last bullet, he will role claim with proof at some point. The cop may role claim if he has good news. This will help us build a town block which narrows down the suspects greatly.

Also too much night talking probably helps the non-humans right now.

It helps the Vig more than the mafia. The SK's going to do his own thing regardless.

I would suggest that people not roleclaim until we catch the SK or they're about to be lynched. We're one mafia member away from rendering the cop completely useless, and revealing who the power roles are gives the SK easy targets. We need to have at least one of them going into the final day to give ourselves the best shot at victory.

@Ghug - Would you recommend the Doc saving himself, particularly if he has good proof he is the Dr? This would guarantee us at least one 'confirmed' power role tomorrow which could be our last day. If we lose 3 town tonight we are almost at lynch or lose.

@everyone: I fear that the 'comfortable' position the town is in due to having two scum dead has lured us into drowsiness. The game is not won yet. Plus, with that pesky mutant still around winning is going to be quite a daunting task. I only wish we had Peter Dinklage's remote control so that we could find that mutant easily.

Maniac: his main concerns are usually not town-aligned. I am still not sure what kind of scum he is, but he has been promoting horrible ideas all game along and his reads have not exactly been helpful. I am especially concerned about his crazy role 'slip' and how he has built very wild theories around the reactions of others that he feels he has caused with said slip. One thing for the Vig to keep in mind is that shooting the SK (unsuccessfully due to immunity) may be more useful than shooting the final reptile, as the cop has a way of IDing the mafia but no way of IDing the SK.

OK Y2 & Ghug – with three killers on the loose a mafia roleblock to avoid and my own side thinking I’m scum and the other side probably wanting to kill me, i have no hope of making it through the night so here is my big reveal. My slip was a slip – yeah, I feel stupid, but we all make mistakes. For those who need more proof – here are the breadcrumbs.

No, now. The SK doesn't care about confirmed townies, and the mafia can only target one, so giving us a second does nothing but ensure that the Vig doesn't shoot a confirmed townie. On the other hand, I'm about to do a giant reread and would prefer to have someone eliminated before I start.

If he's lying, the real cop should not claim until morning.

Vig should absolutely not shoot him.

Doc should do whatever the fuck he wants.

Mutant probably cares about confirmed humans as much as the rest of the town, but he wouldn't be concerned about it like the lizard would be.

As for your crumbs, Maniac, unless someone was specifically looking for them under the assumption that your cop, and they knew UK TV shows, then, your slip aside, I don't think it was nearly so obvious as you made it out to be that you are the secret agent. All that said, you'd have to be one REALLY devious scum to open the game with little detective references. I did notice the Tennant reference, but since you were calling for protection, I didn't make anything of it.

I think I have to agree with ghug about doc and vig moves, even if maniac is blocked, it might be worth having the confirmed human around, but doc might be in danger too. So, doc should absolutely make his own call.

Maybe the reason Maniac is holding off on saying who he scanned is because he suspects the person he scanned of being mutant and doesn't want us to confirm his innocence? The only other reason would be because he suspects that his scan is one of the other town powers and doesn't want to put multiple power roles as targets at once. So, I'm not sure that it actually helps, but I can see potential reasons for holding back.

I'm halfway through my reread and taking a small break. I should get it up before the end of the night, though a scan from Maniac would probably help with that.
