Marvel vs DC
Taking this from the Great Debate thread. So who do you guys like better? Any match ups you'd like to discuss or what not. I'm personally a Marvel fan because I feel they use more shades of grey in their writing and plotlines.

HONY
My new favorite Facebook feed. Basically, Humans of New York photographs a person on the sidewalk and posts a brief story about the encounter or the subject's story a few times each day. Mostly human interest stories, but interjected with humor, philosophy, and life observations.

Please consider signing up as a mentor for the SoW games. I can almost guarantee you have played with at least 1 graduate from these games. They help new players learn how to play and they help older players meet a new group of talented players. There is less work in mentoring then in playing an extra game, so please sign up if you can.

Selling Points made Legal

Diablo 3 has changed the way we play online games. You can actually make money by selling items, gold and in game materials at a small commission to the Site. Diplomacy should do this too, think how much money Splitdiplomat and Czech could make, it would be like they had jobs suddenly. This seems like a great Idea for up and comer players like Zmaj who will only keep playing in hopes of unlocking achievements or something. May as well let them make some cash instead.

Here are a few more articles. They are a little bit too – how should I put it – balanced for me, but they may convince you that ACORN was innocent of the charges presented against it:
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/other-races/104357-acorn-gets-vindicated-by-gao-but-remains-in-decline
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/governor-races/90337-calif-ag-decides-not-to-prosecute-acorn-okeefe
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/lobbying/41707-acorn-pushes-back-on-voter-fraud-allegations-being-fodder-for-mccain
excerpt from that last one:
"
But ACORN says that, in most cases, it is required to submit every voter registration card it receives, and that it flags faulty or suspect cards to alert authorities, but is required to submit them anyway.

It's possible that all the faulty cards that led to recent investigations and criticism, ACORN said, were flagged as faulty to help authorities sift through them.
"

Read the first...waste of time. Balanced? lol A Blog? With no actual details, but some pretty statement by the head of ACORN saying they are not guilty.

Give me a break. That was pathetic.
Draugnar (0 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC
@JECE - ACORN execs were convicted. Just cause liberal Cali decided not to pursue it doesn't mean they weren't convicted elsewhere. Just cause the head says "We did nothing wrong" doesn't mean they didn't. What was he supposed to say "Your right, we are a bunch of lying, thieving scum."? No, neither of those can counter the fact that ACRON execs *were*, in fact, convicted. Try this link.

http://spectator.org/blog/2011/04/15/acorn-obamas-favorite-gangster
Draugnar (0 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC
And excerpt from the very top of the article.

"the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) was convicted of the felony of unlawful "compensation" in the registration of voters. Nevada outlaws compensating voter registration canvassers based on the quantity of registrations. The rationale is that basing pay on how many registrations one can obtain provides a financial incentive for canvassers to invent people and do sloppy work."

Other articles about ACRON convictions include:

http://dailycaller.com/2010/11/23/the-voter-fraud-hall-of-shame-milwaukee-voter-fraud-conviction-makes-acorn%E2%80%99s-2010-total-at-least-15/

15 execs convicted (not charged, not indicted, CONVICTED!) as of the writing of that article. Are you gonna continue to stand behind this corrupt organization just beacuase their president says "We didn't do it" and because one very liberal state and the GAO of a liberal presidency says it's OK?

krellin (80 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC
@Draug (restating...) lol Interestingly enough, there has been more than article recently posted on this site talking about how liberals tend to not be as worried about facts and truth...their emotional responses tend to cloud their rational judgement. Case in point JECE, who even while having DIRECT EVIDENCE of proven corruption, denies it because he "feels" ACORN does good...Liberal = Feelings Trump Reality.
JECE (1248 D)

krellin: That's not a blog you idiot.

And no, ha ha, I’m not being emotional in the least. ;-) I think extremely rationally. Are you thinking at all or just failing to push my buttons?

Draugnar: Your first article, on the other hand, is a blog, as is says at 'the very top' of the page.

I visited the main page of the website where you got your second article and took the liberty to vote in a few of the polls hosted on the site. Unfortunately, the webpage refreshes itself too often for me to have copied all of them. The first question I answer asked how favorable or unfavorable an opinion I had of Sarah Palin. Her approval rating on the site was 80-something or 90-something percent on the site; I unfortunately wasn't able to copy the results of that question as the page refreshed itself before I had a chance to do so. Below you will find many of the most striking results from the surveys I answered. I did so many of them trying to find the Sarah Palin question again, ha ha, but alas I did not find it again. The results speak for themselves for why I might not find The Daily Caller to be a very reliable news source.

So the readership of the site has a slant. So the site as a while has a slant. The facts are in evidence. 15 ACORN employees and execs chraged, indicted, and convicted of election fraud. There is no disputing this fact.

Did ACORN have anything to do with what's going on in Wisconsin?
Draugnar (0 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC
It's just the usual thread drift. Not even really a hijacking as it is still politics. We were just making a point that Wisconsin's governor has not even been charged with a crime and yet the left is going after him while ignoring the voter fraud right under their noses that helped get Osama ...er... Obama "elected".
Celticfox (100 D(B))
05 Jun 12 UTC
Obama is not a terrorist so please save the Osama Obama stuff. Really the whole system is corrupt. Does anyone really think that any political candidate for any higher office is clean of corruption or misdoings?
JECE (1248 D)
05 Jun 12 UTC
Sorry, the question for the results without one was "How much do you like Jon Stewart?"

To take excerpts from those polls, only 4% are registered Democrats, 95% would vote for Romney in an Obama-Romney race, 67% like or love Ford cars (despite how many problems U. S. cars have), 20% have never heard of farmers (that's a joke on my part, but yeah, that's a curious question they asked), almost 40% think McDonald's is more socially conscious than other major companies, only 13% think the government should help poor working-class families, just 18% think that the environment is worth the most minimal thought, almost 60% would disenfranchise convicts released from prison, a whopping 94% oppose the idea that the government should maybe start subsidizing alternative energy sources, 67% would censor all news deemed to "criticize" the U. S. military when it is at war (it is always at war, and why in the world would you, say, censor civilian casualties?) and 96% believe that the (conservative) Democratic Party is too liberal. Oh, I'm sure I fit right in to that troupe.

Again... Facts are facts and you are either blissfully ignorant or intentionally obtuse. 15 ACORN employees and execs were charged, indicted, and convicted of election fraud.
krellin (80 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC
"Really the whole system is corrupt...." blah blah blah. The Democrats are about to get shallacked in wisconsin, to now the whole system is corrupt. When Osama/Obama got elected, the american people had finally found their way and everything was wonderful.

Sorry...the entire system is NOT corrupt. The American people as a whole are largely uninformed, willfully ignorant...I dare say stupid (utilizing such resources as comedy Central to make poitical decisions....trust me, I have worked with the dim-witted fools -- 18- 20-somethings - that actually reference Jon Stewart as source material in a debate...) The system works as it is supposed to, and the advent of voter fraud is really insignificant in the overall statistical outcome of those that choose to vote, and would only affect a very, very close election. But it is interesting that Democrat-leaning folks ONLY start crying that the whole system is broken when they are LOSING...
JECE (1248 D)
05 Jun 12 UTC
krellin: Ah, so it is. Yet CNN and the New York Times also have blogs. They were were written by real contributors to the The Hill. Take these blogs as opinion articles or columns if you like.
krellin (80 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC
JECE -- whether you are emotional or not, you are living in denial of facts....which emotional liberals often do to justify their back-assward stance on issues. I suppose you support the Democrat opposistion in Wisconsin because you think it is "NOT FAIR" what Walker did. And yet...it was completely rational, it turned the budget around...it was LEGAL (as it has not been struck down or even challenged in court to my knowlege). So your problem is emotionally based...it's "NOT FAIR....wahhhhh.."
Celticfox (100 D(B))
05 Jun 12 UTC
I should just point out here. I'm NOT a democrat. I'd vote for a Republican if I agreed with them. I do feel the system is broken with how much money is coming into the political system from things like corporations. I say we should take the money out of politics and see what happens.
krellin (80 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC
JECE - you ask us to examine your articles, live in denial of truth, call us out fro being wrong when you miss the oh-so-obvious things right in front of your nose. tsk tsk...Yes, I will take them as opinion articles....shills for the Democrat Party, which is basically what they are.
krellin (80 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC

Draugnar (0 DX)

How about this from the Wall Street Journal? Is that legit enough for you? Fuck man, you are a stubborn asswipe.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203917304574414953885661772.html

An excerpt from the Wall street Journal article.

Conservatives have long complained that the type of voter fraud countenanced by liberal groups like Acorn taint the integrity of the ballot. Liberals remain unpersuaded, though to date some 70 Acorn employees in 12 states have been convicted of voter registration fraud.

70 convicted as of this article. 70 convicted. Reputable source. Will you shutr the fuck up about ACORN being such a good group now?
krellin (80 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC
Why do people fear "money in politics"? Because they are too brain-dead to look at one ad versus another...do their own research...and draw a conclusion? I truly don't understand.

When you go buy a car/phone/house/vacuum cleaner/shampoo/etc....do you like any and all information then? But...for your President or other elected officials....you want *minimal* information???? Please explain...
Celticfox (100 D(B))
05 Jun 12 UTC
How about instead of having any attack ads with have the candidates put forth just what direction they think the country should go in. Their thoughts on foreign matters, domestic issues etc etc. I don't think any attack ads are needed. We shouldn't be voting based on those but pon what each individual candidate has to offer.
krellin (80 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC
Celticfox -- Funny....I have a pretty good idea what both Romney and Obama want to do movign forward. It's really *quite simple* to get that information. Attack ads are then a way to round out the picture...to point out the descrepencies in what politicians SAY...and what their records DEMONSTRATE. So is your problem that you are unable to discern truth from fiction? Or do you just believe every ad you see?
Draugnar (0 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC
Youfr right, but the fact is, even corporations do attack ads. Lokk at the Mac/PC ads. Creative attack ads.
krellin (80 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC
By the way...they have these thigns called DEBATES. Republicans had about 30 of them to get to Romney....Did you watch any? Would have answered a lot of questions about the Direction Romney wants to go...And Obama has a record as to where he has taken us.
Celticfox (100 D(B))
05 Jun 12 UTC
Nope, but I just don't see the need for it. I feel people can compare between the 2 and make their own decisions. If they need more watch the debates. Those attack ads from both sides are so biased and take things out of context that all of them are misleading.
Draugnar (0 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC
And there will be debates between Obama and Romney and between Obama's running mate (will he choose Biden again?) and Romney's running mate.
Celticfox (100 D(B))
05 Jun 12 UTC
Right ... just saying people should be making decision based on those and not ads. While you may not there are people who do. Oh and for the record I watch very little actual tv.. if I do it's on hulu or netflix. So no I don';t really see many ads.
Draugnar (0 DX)
05 Jun 12 UTC
