PA has mountains, which you have to go deeper into Kentucky to see. I've driven the PA Turnpike all the way from Wheeling WV to Philly before and it was a decent enough drive. I've spent time in King of Prussia, West Chester (turned down a job offer there with a .COM just before the bubble burst, boy did I luck out), Media, Chadd's Ford, and Philly.

My favorite state in the Great Lakes/Midwest region, though, is Wisconsin. Madison was so gorgeous this past month... I could see myself moving there without a doubt.

Oh yes the Turnpike (even before the upgrade). Many of a summer driving out to visit family, mostly in the Lancaster area. Been to Intercourse and Blue Ball?

Only been to Blue Ball in Ohio (near Middletucky).

So there are two blue balls.

I just drove through Kentucky on the way to my sisters house in North Carolina. (Oregon/Idaho/Utah/Wyoming/Colorado/Kansas/Missouri/Illinois/Kentucky/Tennessee/North Carolina) Long trip. But only went through a the small part of Kentucky between Illinois and Tennessee. Was pretty though. That Land between the Lakes area looked like it would be neat but we didn't really have time to spend. Tennessee was much more beautiful than I expected. I'd only gone the short north to south route through Tennessee before so hadn't really seen much.

Draugnar, I live in that part of the world now--Connersville, IN (called "Connertucky" by many). But if you think that's flat, try the real prairie. I lived in Princeton IL for 2 years--it's about 2 hours west of Chicago. When my parents came to visit, I told them, "drive on I-80 until you get to nothing...and then you're getting close." Nice town, but it was hard to get used to being able to see for 10 miles in any direction.

PS--Once heard a visitor to Princeton say, "what a beautiful area this is...it's got the blackest, richest soil I've ever seen!" So even the cornfields are beautiful, if you can see it.
