I'm not sure about the date for it though- 19th Oct is the first league game, so November is right in the depths of the League and Masters tournaments. Add into that the GFDT final happening, and the World Series in the New Year (where we wouldn't want to see our team's chances damaged by tournament overload) and you get something that doesn't seem so ideal to me.

Also, one other idea that might be nice would be to expand what the tournament does. At present each tournament we have has at least two unique features:

Masters: Solo only scoring, Round Robin.
GFDT: PPSC style points, but with solos counting big-time, knock-out style.
League: Conservative WTA, League format.
World Series Diplomacy: Inter-site, team tournament.
Champions' Trophy: Very high quality, one off match

With this, we only really add "Nationality based" to the program of tournaments as a whole. I'd suggest it needs something extra to justify its taking a leading position in the 'calendar'.

One thought might be having some variants in there, so there is a public press board and a couple of no-press boards in each game.

And five team members- 3 standard, 1 Public Press, 1 Gunboat.

so they would have to be a team that is good at it all.

There's no particular reason why you should have seven, and I think having teams of 5 could significantly increase participation

I dont think the teams should ever play in a game since diplomacy has seven Countries there is no way you could get a fair game (someone would always get the short end of the stick) because if your on teams you want both you and your partner to win.

Maybe we shouldnt have teams from a certain region maybe we could allow people to form teams with people that they think are good, mediocre, great, although then that may not be fair if some Great diplomers get on teams with other great diplomers
