NHL Playoffs Tracker--16 Teams Questing for 16 Wins--and the Stanley Cup!
It took until the last day of the season, but the NHL playoffs are SET. First round match-ups: in the EAST...Senators/Canadiens, Lightning Red/Wings, Rangers/Penguins, Capitals/Islanders...in the WEST...Ducks/Jets Blues/Wild, Blackhawks/Wild, Canucks/Flames. (Out of the playoffs...the Bruins and--YES! --the Kings, mwuahahahaha!) So, while everyone picks against my Ducks (I'm sure), we'll track the playoffs here...guesses now--who hoists Lord Stanley's Cup?

maybe it's time to lock this thread. I don't want more shit on CB, and this thread has served its purpose of pissing me off
yassem (2533 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC
James, you lost this conversation. You got down to the level of the trolls, got involved in an argument, they have beaten you with their experience.

Frankly, AR47 (if it is supposed to be a reference to AK47 fun fact - there is no AK47, the proper name is just AK. There is however AK74) is just a horrible person. The "fell of the guard tower" joke is extremely old and quite tasteless. Basically I think it's just lack of education and, frankly, low intelligence that lead to ignorance presented by AR47.

To be absolutely honest, I have no idea how this thread is not yet locked. Don't get me wrong, I am opposed to locking threads but you had clear glorification of Holocaust (only awesome birthday - person who killed 6 million Jews) which in many countries in punishable by law, I think in USA as well.

A PM from James:At first I thought your posts were just kind of 'funny obnoxious' posts, the kind you do in support of friends, with no rel intention. But your attack on CB was unwarranted, he is not a sexist and you assuming that he is a 'typical male' wh degrades women is IN ITSELF sexist.

Post this PM in the forum if you wish, but I am not trying to call you out publicly, as I don't want to start more hate that could lead to the Mods getting overly annoyed.

And your friend AR47 said all of the following:

"126 years ago the greatest man to ever live was born. Unfortunately, he had to kill himself when he saw his gas bill."

"Hey Yanik, I do actually. My grandfather died in the holocaust.
He fell off a guard tower."

"I take no responsibility for the actions of others. Often, influential leaders had others support them when they wrote about their struggles. It seems that seboomafou understands mein.
*you're"

"The allied powers were just playing the long game. They knew that once Hitler saw his gas bill it would be gg. Have you never played monopoly?"

So don't try to justify her words. And I do apologize if I got your gender wrong, a survey a while back showed that a large majority of players and especially forum-dwellers were male. But the fact I did not associate women instantly with the vileness seen in the thread perhaps is not the worst thing to be done. AR's response to me thinking he was a man was
"Whoa whoa whoa, who said I was a "him", you cis-gendered white male scum. I will stand idly while you rape me with your words you shitlord pig."

all in all a simple pronoun misusage was all I did. Hell, by assuming I am a 'cis-gendered white male scum', that was racist of him. Who said I was white? But I did not react as harshly, I acted much more fairly than he or you.

I am Polish and I know that I have had some relatives die in the holocaust. I am too young to be directly affected, but whenever I here people advocating Hitler, I'm willing to go for a joke or the to lighten the mood, but AR47 went too far.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

Once you turn a dark subject into a joke, you should fully expect it to go too far.
YashikaArya (0 DX)
20 Apr 15 UTC
All I have to say to you is that I find you to be a hypocritical asshole who has no problem throwing rape around as a punishment when we all know how many more lives it has affected than the nazi's. Based off statistics 80% of the people who do get raped are under 30 amd every 107 seconds anouther American is sexually assulted. For you to categorize traumatic sexual experiences as potentially enjoyable is disgusting and I hope to god you get some sort of reprimand for your actions. Try to think about how your words hurt others. I hope AR47 doesn't have a panic attack with the way you carelessly throw around trigger inducing sscenario's
seboomafou (267 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC
Yeah im just wondering if the people that jumped so eagerly to report the Hitler references, or heck the multi accusations, were as quick to point out that someone actually wished "traumatic sexual experiences" on another individual. And that if such a thing were to happen that they should enjoy it. If not the entire morality argument that everyone is hanging their hat on falls to the ground. You can't claim to have morals and then only selectively employ them. That would be amoral. And hypocritical.
For example, James, friends of mine have dealt with sexual abuse and following your form of reasoning, the mentioning of anything of the sort in jest or even suggesting that people deserve it i they are to experience it is frankly, abhorrent.
Regardless of what AR47 did, your intent was clearly malicious and vindictive. And if the mods don't respond to rape in the way they did to the rest of the things then the entire moderating system is useless, a complete farce, and rigged.
seboomafou (267 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC
So if you say things like:

"There is a man on this site named bosox. May you have many pleasurable sexually traumatic experiences in sick acts with him"

You can hardly claim:

"all in all a simple pronoun misusage was all I did."

yassem (2533 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC
@YashikaArya

You're supposed to be Polish? Never heard of it. If so, what does the beetle do in the reed?

Furthermore, if you are really Polish, especially day after the anniversary of Warsaw Ghetto Uprising you should know better than to join on Holocaust-jokes, as they never tend to end on "oh that Hitler" and rather go on to be bordering on Holocaust glorification.
seboomafou (267 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC
On the first page of the thread, it is James' third comment, at 2:10 am.

I also wonder what his definition of sick acts is, it seems to be a slight against non-heteronormative sexuality, but that could very well be my own extension. The rest is his word for word.
yassem (2533 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC
And as for JY wishing someone a traumatic sexual experience, not sure if it is report-able as he didn't exactly encourage any form of violence towards anyone, per se.

Also, I really don't think this thread should go into the direction of what is worse, sexual violence around the world or genocides. If you want though we can switch the threads to the Censorship to start talking how both are religions fault.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
20 Apr 15 UTC
That's disgusting. Fuck you, James.
yassem (2533 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC
And frankly, I must agree that throwing "sexist" and "homophobic" accusations all around with little to none justification is also quite tasteless and potentially harming to any movements advocating tolerance and gender-equality.
yassem (2533 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC
Just out of curiosity, James, why did you point out particularly bo_sox? : D
seboomafou (267 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC
He literally directed me to another user and told me to go get sexually traumatic experiences, and ENJOY THEM. I really have no idea how you can defend that.

And a rather troubling direction to suggest, to claim that all religion(s) (I can only assume you would allow for the plurality of belief) is/are at fault for anything that happened here.
YashikaArya (0 DX)
20 Apr 15 UTC
@Yassem

I never said I was Polish. MAYBE IF you took time to read what I wrote, you'd see it was directed to the disgusting comments James made.

@seboomafou

I can see what you are saying and as someone that doesn't follow whag these people consider "normal" it makes me so upset that even on an open-minded and flourishing community as diplo, people are still ostracised for things they have no control over.
seboomafou (267 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC
All jokes aside my friend, when someone refers to other people as "radical bitch" a certain connotation is implied.

When they wish onto you sexually traumatic experiences, and tell you to go receive them from another user on the site, there is clearly reportable if the criteria is encouraging a form of violence towards someone. Rape is a form of violence, he wished it upon me, and suggested someone on this site who would be adept in doing so (my apologies bosox that you were dragged into this).

Unless you don't think sexually traumatic experiences are forms of violence, in which case the issue is quite clearly larger.
yassem (2533 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC
@YA, I don't know dude, your posts are so clumsy I cannot get the meaning of them
@seboomafou, I think it was directed at AR47, or is it official now that both accounts are of the same person?
And frankly, as much as I am against unjustified violence, especially sexual, maybe a traumatic experience of any kind would make AR47 rethink his statements about other people's tragedies.

This thread is amazing! I have so many people with suspicious connections to email now.
seboomafou (267 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC
Hmm maybe the problem isn't who it was directed at. Though a careful reading would lead one to believe that it is directed to me. And no the accounts are not of the same person, but hey if the greater issue is multi>sexual trauma, then lets focus on that.

And I don't know yassem, it seems rather uncouth to say violence is bad but then wish it on another person. What you are saying is maybe some trauma (the implication here is sexual) or something would teach AR a good lesson! And I'm happy an admin appeared, I had a question. I am new to this forum, but I know that most don't encourage and in fact are against all forms of hateful speech, so tell me where the sexual trauma fits in on that front.
YashikaArya (0 DX)
20 Apr 15 UTC
@Yassem

Sure i may slip up here and there but you get the message. Anyways I think there is a bigger issue at hand and that is James!
JamesYanik (548 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC
Bosox i was referencing your occasional dark joking humor, and it was obvious it should not be taken seriously, I apologize sorry.
Also, why do you think traumatic experiences are only exclusive to women YA? Are men incapable of being traumatized by sexual experiences? Who's the sexist now...

Finally I'd like to point out that I'm Polish too, and though an occasional Hitler joke I can stand by, it is the fact that AR47 NEVER once admitted that Hitler was bad is what bugs me. I literally think he doesn't know how horrible it is to support such a bad man. I apologize again for my crudeness earlier, but I'm owning up to it.

JamesYanik (548 D)
20 Apr 15 UTC

the difference is my comments I regretted and stopped saying. I do apologize for them, though AR47 never apologized for his comments. Secondly, I am Polish too, and I know a big part of my family tree got chopped off in the Holocaust. It is AR47's continuing hate that bothers me the most, alongside YA's rants about feminism that are borderline sexist in and out of themselves.

Ideal Urban Planning
I was recently reading about some of the idealized urban planning by various authors, such as Fourier, More, Howard, and I read that two cities in England were modeled after Howard's cities outlined in Garden Cities of Tomorrow. Have any of our members in the UK visited or lived in Letchworth or Welwyn? Are these cities models to be followed, or is this just hype?
