First things first, Vashta, that illegal aliens double entendre in the opening was abso-fucking-lutely brilliant. Krellin would soooo say something like that. Massive applause.

Secondly, I'm intrigued by the WIFOM debate. I didn't even know what it meant in the last game, but looking back I agree that night kills hold a lot of information in them. When uclabb was killed last game, I tried to understand why they would have killed him after guak claimed (no one really talked about it that I remember), and just after I was lynched I realized that it was because of YJ. I wish I'd noticed before I was lynched because it would have ended the game a lot more quickly, but the only thing I can still do is take that lesson into this game.

I'm torn on how much we can get out of day one. On one side, it is when mafia are most vulnerable because there's so little to go off of, but lynching a townie on day one in M3 brought on a lot of suspicion later in the game to the players that voted to lynch meme so quickly. I thought that that lynching was an innocent mistake since meme was the only one that really did anything significant on day one, but I think a lot of players read way too deeply into it. On the other side, I imagine most players, mafia included, tend to let their guard down a little bit on day one since the game is just starting, so there will probably be some slips that we need to keep an eye on.

Lastly, I don't think there's much to read in Chaqa voting for himself. I see it as a joke… but hey, if Chaqa wants out so quickly, that'd make life a lot easier, eh?

So - after my experiences, I say NO VOTE on Day 1. We're just going to kill a townie and learn nothing in so doing, unless the mafia is three complete morons.

So either Chaqa is A) A vanilla townie mad that he got vanilla again and wants to die or B) Scum that is trying to play himself off as a vanilla. There is no reason for a power role to do this, because it only draws attention to yourself and doesnt help the town in any way.
I am initially reading this as Chaqa being mad that he got vanilla townie, but who knows?? If Chaqa continues to just be dead weight, we can basically treat him as a lurker right??
Which brings me to my next point: What to do with lurkers?? Lynch them early?? Tell the Vig to kill them?? Pressure vote them?? I personally think that you should vote them off early / have the vig kill them. You are going to have to do something about them eventually, and it would be best to do it early when you have the least amount of info. I do realize that it gives the mafia an easy vote though, so maybe Vig should kill them. But then the vig would be wasting their only two shots early. But if they get killed early, then they wont get to use their shots anyway. Thoughts??

@krellin - a no vote will give us no information. A vote gives us information. If you choose not to vote, then you really dont have any more information on day 2 then you do on day 1. You might have a little extra time to talk about things, but do you really think that we are going to expose the scum by simply talking for an extra 48 hours?? The mafia would love to have a no lynch, because their only chance of dying is a lynch (and I guess SK).

All 3 mafia were active last game, and I think as this group gets more experienced there will be less lurking, especially from the mafia.

a yes vote gives you a 10/14 chance of having the first death a townie. a no vote gives you a 100% chance (minus the chance of a doc save) that the first death is a townie (mafia's kill).

Yeah, a kill is definitely necessary, especially since there is a SK. Right now we only have one kill for every 2 that the scum get (plus the vigilante kills). We need to use them.

Are you really voting Chaqa? It was kinda funny at first, but we're 80+ posts in, let's take it seriously. Is there a case against Chaqa? Did he scumslip? If he did, elaborate, but don't actually cost a vote on that.

Chaqa is just doing something to stir the pot up and see who bites. Speaking of which... WD why are you voting Chaqa?? Do you really think that he is probable scum? Please dont do what Eden did last game and just throw your vote from person to person until it sticks. Your vote on Chaqa doesnt show independent thinking, it just shows that you are willing to vote for the favorite. This certainly seems worrisome.

IMO, the case against Chaqa does not warrant a lynch. He is playing a psychological, reverse / double reverse / triple reverse psychology game with us in which you have no better idea if he is scum or not than if he started. I dont think that we should treat Chaqa as any more than a lurker unless:
A) Chaqa actually contributes more
OR
B) We reach the deadline with no better idea of who to vote off

Feeding his self vote is an easy vote and does not give us any information or help us catch scum.
