@Ghug … I'm pointing out flaws in your case, where points you use against me can go both ways. You did this exact same thing to krellin on day one, so please don't act like there's no merit in doing so.
I'm not looking to dig myself into a deeper hole by refusing to acknowledge dumb things I've said so far. I'll acknowledge every one of your points in this post to humor you, but if you expect me to deny everything, you're trying too hard.
Page 6 - already covered. I read uclabb as "early town" on page 6 when many players still hadn't even posted. Yes, it was a bad read, but given that he was one of only a few players trying at that point, I wouldn't read as much into that as you are.
Page 9, uclabb post - you said yourself that my little PS thing was scummy. You excused it, but I don't see why he had to do the same.
Page 9, Squigs - I didn't think uclabb was scum, I had begun to think Squigs was. I thought Squigs was trying to kill early discussion, and uclabb happened to be creating early discussion. They butted heads and I saw Squigs as more scummy at that point. Considering that uclabb would have been careful not to slip up too much that early, that's not surprising. He fooled most of us. That's all there is to that.
Page 16 - I explained that the Squigs case wasn't as strong as it was before his defense, so I said that if a better case came up, I'd vote for it.
Page 18 - I wouldn't give mafia partners high town reads like that. I'd give them null at best; that way, if I'm outed, there's less of a connection. We're all independent players here and there's no reason for uclabb to expect that his partners can't survive on their own.
Page 19 - I want us to discuss everything. The more we talk, the more opportunities there are for slips. You make a living in pointing those out. I probably wasn't clear enough about that here.
Page 19 - So? I still think krellin could be scum, I'm still shocked that Chaqa wasn't scum, and I'm not sold that y2k isn't scum either.
Page 20 - I see it as an important yet unresolved topic. Apparently it's not worth discussing to anyone else though. I don't understand why we can't talk about more than one thing at a time.
Page 22 - I listed uclabb as potential scum on page 19. You even pointed that post out.
I'm glad you claimed responsibility for what happened to Squigs, but that in no way clears you. It's still a black mark against you (and others that pushed against Squigs, myself included) despite saying you're sorry. I miss the days back in third grade when an apology cleared you of all wrongdoing.
I see where I've slipped, but your case against me isn't as strong as you think, and I think you're overcomplicating a lot of the things I say.
@krellin … neither of the posts you gave above give any indication that you were admitting your power claim was faked. You try to get WD not to think about your claim because you don't want to reveal that it was fake (in your defense, he asked a really scummy question, so I don't disagree at all with your response, just how you're trying to use it). The second post looks to me like a deflection again, where you try to get us to simply ignore your role. Neither of those are admitting that you faked, and if you don't do so explicitly, no one is going to believe it. So no, you didn't point out a lie, you just evaded - again.
You continue to spew hypocrisy in the next post by saying that I ignore everything you say because I'd bet you still haven't read the case against me, just like the first time you tried to counter it. You claim I'm constantly misinterpreting what you say but can't provide explanations for what you've said - even admitting it was a stupid thing to say is fine in my book.
@y2k … you weren't impressed at all by the case against krellin? Humor me, then, and explain how he could do all of these things. Hit the power claim hard. If you can actually rebut my case, great, but you didn't even bother trying.
@WD … I'm a smart person, my brain works well, and I am getting paid to do nothing all day, so I'm probably looking at this thread for at least 4 hours a day right now. I'm catching things because I'm reading everything over and over again. You know when you read a book a second time and a third and a fourth and things look different? That's what I'm getting. I still say stupid things, though, where I don't necessarily see what I'm saying as scummy but can see how it comes off that way upon review later. I really don't have a ton of experience with this game, and it's taken me years to learn how to keep from saying stupid things in Diplomacy, so right now I think that's just something I have to deal with. Hopefully that gives you some kind of explanation.
I'd like to understand where the holes are in this case against krellin. He lied about a power role, and if he's town, he put everyone else at risk. If he's mafia, he saved his scummy ass - if that's the case, you guys are just letting him get away with it. In my mind that's more than enough to convict right there.
