Oh noes...the AIDS Researchers...
Just listened to Obama blathering about the AIDS researchers on the Malaysian flight. Oh noes...the AIDS researchers....suddenly this flight is more important than others, because of the AIDS researchers...

If it were just shmucks like you and I that had died…not so big a deal. But the AIDS researchers…oh noes…Anyone else think that every life is precious, not just the AIDS researchers….OH NOES!!!

@WD: To respond to your question with a question, you agree that it's possible it was a claim, right? It may have been an accidental claim, but regardless, you can see how it came off that way, yes or no? My first reaction at the time was that it was to throw suspicion toward krellin's claim, and now that krellin contradicted himself yet again, there may be some credence to that but it's difficult to tell. I see it as something we had to consider, though not so much now.

@everyone: Glad to see the first scum flip! Now let's find those connections. I think WD made a very town analysis of uclabb, but I will make a study myself to see if anything was missed/twisted. In any case, I do not think I should be completely cleared because I was uclabb's top town read, nor krellin for being top scum. However, given that uclabb named krellin as his top scum several times and was largely leading the case against krellin I do think that we should lay off krellin for Day 2 at least. Also, uclabb trying to move to y2k from Squigs makes me think that, like usual, we were choosing between two townies. Yet, uclabb bussing y2k is a more likely scenario than uclabb bussing krellin, so I guess y2k is still on my radar.

@WD: I really do not understand how come I have not been under suspicion yet, perhaps it is because I have not yet made one of my creative writing projects, but those usually come when there is more information to study than in Day 1, so it is likely a matter of time before people start getting pissed at me. Regarding ILN, I had as top scum because even though he is new he has made absolutely zero effort to try and help the town. I understand noob mistakes, but I do not understand the utter apathy showed by ILN. I have asked questions to him in almost all of my posts and I have yet to receive an answer for any of them. There is also the post where he mentions his own *human* instincts which is either a slip or a really lame attempt at a joke. Finally, the few posts iLN has made have all been regarding either krellin or yourself, though mostly krellin, and I always chase after those with tunnel vision. At least I want to see some reads or challenges on others. I for one have been mostly after ILN, but have already challenged ghug, semck, y2k and others for explanations to their actions. The only one who has not taken the time to answer is ILN which is why he remains in the top of my scum list.

Guak's updated reads:

Confirmed SCUM
uclabb

Highly likely SCUM
ILN
Maniac (Thinking mutant more than mafia, still scum)

Slightly scummy
ghug
pj (is it really possible that pj is mafia yet again? would be pretty ironic if pj and uc are a mafia team)
bosox

Null
y2k
anyone I may have missed on this list

Slight town
krellin
WD

Confirmed vanilla
guak
Chaqa
meme
semck
Squigs

Alright so in summary we have (I think) 9 people left, so 33%chance of lynching scum today. I would say our odds are even better given that there are some people who are very unlikely to be scum due to their interactions with uclabb. Also, all three power roles are still alive and hiding at least partially which is pretty good news. Also, krellin is guaranteed not to be the mutant if his roleblock claim is not countered, so that is another plus.

I will go back and reread me some uclabb to see if I find any links, will post soon some more analysis.

@bo_sox No, I don't think, even if it were a claim it was one that should've been pointed out. Night 1 was not the time for that in any case, even if he were claiming to discredit krellin's claim. (which krellin seems to have recanted, the scumbag) Even as an accidental claim, it was one that was best kept in mind rather than put in the spotlight. If he wants to claim, it only makes sense to do so when he has information to share, or is counterclaiming when it makes a difference for the innocents in deciding a lynch. It would've been, and is, an argument for lynching krellin for (admittedly) lying about a roleclaim once the humans have the power to lynch again, but making any sort of move about it at night seems like a lizard play to me, and that's how I'm going to call it.

As for krellin, when did you say that it was a fake claim prior to the end of the night? I certainly missed that--though for a night 1 action it certainly fooled the lizards into roleblocking you instead of someone else, though this recanting thing seems highly reminiscent of your (imo) poorly-timed cop reveal in M1. Regardless of what krellin is, he's certainly playing hardball, and I'm just not sure how we're going to deal with that just yet.

@guak I guess I can see what you mean about apathy in ILN's posts, and despite him saying something about posting more today, I haven't seen him yet. He also seemed to follow along with uclabb very easily, as a newly-hatched lizard might follow its more-experience creche-mate. He's certainly on my radar too, so I can't fault you for that. I just find it weird that even when we're trying to get reads and answers from everyone, you seem significantly less-noticed without actually lurking. I don't know, maybe it's nothing, but it raises lizard flags for me, and I don't want to let anyone, myself included, slip around avoiding suspicion when we've got people dropping like flies. Even though I see you in conversations every once in a while, for some reason you're just not making as much of an impression on me, and that worries me a bit.
WardenDresden (239 D(B))
09 Jul 14 UTC
Maybe we just take this game with differing approaches, but @bo_sox, Do you agree that even the innocent, unknowing town should keep some of their reads to themselves unless they think they're about to die? I certainly think that playing guesses of power roles close to the chest is important, unless you think that power role is about to die otherwise.

For instance, I was reading (incorrectly) Squigs as a non-vanilla role because he seemed to be playing like he had more to lose than a normal human did initially. That was a part of my read on him that I did end up sharing, but only because he was in the hot seat already. Upon a reread, I can see how he played the last hour or so exactly like the vanilla mortal he was, but in the face of krellin's claim, and y2k suddenly coming around as potential suspect #2, I think we got a little caught up in the moment. Funnily enough, I agreed with uclabb's post about not worrying about late swaps causing a tie, but I felt like the case against Squigs had enough weight to warrant the kill.

Anyways, I'm going to start my vote out on ##VOTE ILN pending the promised further posts, and I'm going to look back really quickly before I post new reads.

First of all can I tender my resignation? Who do I hand my official letter to?

I'm just not a very good bodyguard. We're in a sealed room with just over a dozen people and three guys get creamed around me and I don't save any of them. My goal in life was to be the a bullet and die a hero. All I got was a paper cut. Thanks to the guy who handed handed me the bandaid, but you really shouldn't have bothered, you should have been helping those poor guys bleeding out over the carpet. Were you drunk or something, I know I suggested have a glass of wine, not a few bottles!

The reptilians didn't try to stop me acting as a bodyguard by the way. As far as I'm aware no one tried to stop the doctor handing me the bandaid.

Alright, the psychic juices are flowing, let's look at some key moments from the past:

p6 "Uclabb: I have to admit that I learned a lot from seeing him play in the last game and I think he's an excellent player. On top of that, he was the first player to really push a discussion back on page one, and we're still talking about WIFOM now. I think we need as many discussion creators as possible and uclabb already proved he is one. Early town read from me."
These were his first reads. He gives uclabb a town read for starting a conversation about something that doesn't really get reliably alignment indicative comments.

p9 "Going the other direction, I do think that squigs was right in identifying the single scummiest non-krellin thing that has happened thus far, which was bosox's post that essentially said "P.S. Can everyone please coach me on how to seem town?" Hate that/would vote if the BW were between him and someone not squigs or krellin." -uclabb
These were his first reads. He acted as if he found bo very scummy, but his only cited reason for suspicion was something that had already been discussed and attributed to inexperience. I also think that part of the reason he said this was to make others from previous games, particularly me, as he has admitted to doing this to me before, recognize something he often gets mad about as town and read him as town because of it.

p9 "Squigs wasn't simply defending against an accusation, he was attacking right back. He called out uclabb as scum on page two for starting a discussion about WIFOM - that was definitely odd."
An implicit analysis of uclabb's behavior as not scummy. This is a good way for mafia to support their peeps (or lizs as the case may be) without having direct links back to them.

p16 "I'm still willing to switch my vote if a stronger case comes up and there's enough strength to push it at the last second, but I'm not willing to risk a tie so it'll have to be very, very quick, given that there's five minutes left. I have some catching up to do from the last hour+"
Bo comes back very late, with Squigs, his preferred lynch target from early on, already possessing a dominant lead. He says that he is "still" willing to switch, despite not expressing any willingness to do so before. He later votes y2k before the end comes. This is him trying to distance himself from a lynch he worked hard to make happen.

p18 Uclabb lists bo behind krellin and y2k on his ordered list of scum.
This seems high, something that might lead someone to conclude that they're not connected when looking back if one of them were to die. It is, however, below two popular candidates for day two lynch, meaning that that suspicion would likely never have to be backed by action. He gives no reasoning for this high listing. The two people listed below bo are both now dead and confirmed town. I doubt that uclabb would put both of his teammates in his town list rather than his scum list, and given that he was a key catalyst in the bandwagons of both y2k and krellin day one, it makes the most sense for that to be bo.

p19 "I don't know why Maniac wants us to quit discussing our three biggest topics so far of WIFOM, lurkers, and the day one lynch. If we don't discuss any of these things any more, we're going to sit silent. Bad idea."
He wants us to continue discussing things that aren't scumhunting.

p19 "@Maniac … sorry bro, you just slipped. You didn't mean to, but you did."
Why would a townie call attention to what he believes to be a power role slipping? Wouldn't he say nothing lest a potentially unaware mafia notice? WD questions him about it on page 21, but he doesn't answer.

p19 "My list:

Scum -
Chaqa
Krellin
Uclabb
Y2K
WD (very slight)"
bo lists all of uclabb's scumreads as scummy himself, with uclabb swapped out for him. This is for similar reasons to uclabb's listing.

p20 "I'm a little surprised at how unresolved the WIFOM conversation is yet how tired people are of talking about it."
This is now several times that bo has expressed concern over the WIFOM discussion. The only reason I can really see for this is that he wants to know what the town feels about nightkill analysis so that the lizards can act accordingly.

p22 "as I looked back to put together my scum list during the night, it occurred to me that uclabb was still posting but not with the same substance as the day came to a close."
He gives a reason for uclabb's perceived scumminess, but only once uclabb is dead and it benefits bo to distance himself.

To conclude, bo and uclabb have strange and scumlike reads of each other. He worked hard to get Squigs lynched and then moved off when it no longer mattered in order to distance himself. He has an odd fixation on non-scumhunting topics, especially the early discussion of WIFOM, which could help the mafia in planning their kills. His reaction to Maniac's pseudoclaim was anti-town.

The oracle hath spoken. All aboard the bo train!

Actually, going to grab some sleep instead of finishing up the updated reads post and see if any responses to the above changes anything.

But @Maniac I clearly don't get your plan with that post at all, and you're becoming as big a question mark as krellin.
Maniac (189 D(B))
09 Jul 14 UTC
@wd what specifically don't you understand. I will try to answer clearly.

Someone asked earlier what 'haymaking' was. It is a reference to looking for a needle in a haystack - when people add hay, it doesn't help.
Maniac (189 D(B))
09 Jul 14 UTC
Also @ warden - you should also consider that Bo wasn't the first to draw attention to what they thought was a slip (but was a clever plan). PJ noticed it first I think. Later someone asked for clarification which Bo provided.

I don't see Bo as being reptilian at the moment but I will look again at all info before making reads.

@krellin - can you elaborate on your roleblock claim?
Maniac (189 D(B))

09 Jul 14 UTC
Maniac, pj asked you if it was a roleclaim, which in my opinion is a legitimate question to ask. bo merely pointed out that you had slipped and then explained further when asked to clarify. The key here is that pj was asking a question, whereas bo was just pointing it out.

Morning gang... So interesting night. I still think we're on the back foot but thanks to Vig or Sk. I reckon Uclabb's gotta be pissed in lizard hell, another early death...
Firstly - @Krellin. I know I haven't been as active but I'm pretty confident I read all of your posts and you've never recanted your role claim - please point to the exact page reference for this. Until that point ##vote Krellin. In my mind he's playing exactly has he did when we were Mafia together and he's jerking us all around and loving every minute of it. And Krellin before you start calling me psychic blah blah - nope this is just based on your statements so far, no claims of psychicness here!
Secondly, someone asked about Doc Save. ##Call GM. In previous games Doc saves have been informed that they were targeted even if the save wasn't required - is that correct there? If it is please hold back that you were doc saved as we're likely going to need it at some point to prove a role claim.
Looking at the night kill's, my opinion is that the Mafia wouldn't have targeted Chaqa. He was acting so crazily that its likely we would have lynched him anyway so it's not in their interest to kill him off whilst he was keeping us all confused. This means that they targeted Semck - now yes WIFOM bollocks, it could've been a totally random kill or maybe they felt he was the most likely to be on to something. Not a huge amount to go on but he was starting to look at a Krellin lynch…
Pg18 Semck pushing Krellin and wanting to look “at a Krellynch tomorrow”
I also can definitely see Uclabb putting Krellin at the top of his scum list. I was doing exactly the same last game with Yellowjacket. We knew one of us was going to get caught before the end and if Krellin had been lynched today, Uclabb would have become a very clear townie to the rest of us right up until the end.
My starter for 10….

Is there a statistic? I want to know. In a game I felt I was playing with the stubbornness of a child. He/she wanted ALL his way. All the negotiation was "this is mine mine mine". He/she couldn't see the repercussions of a bad decision because he/she wanted the gratification of now.

Seriously, knowing the age of a person before starting a game or a negotiation can help a lot. Psychological speaking.
