I was raised in the jungle in South America, so I've eaten lots of weird things. Jaguar, anaconda, agouti, capybara, etc. Most of it pretty decent, though anaconda is awful (if you've ever had alligator tail it's similar).

Had roasted tarantula once - a tarantula is so large there's actual meat inside the abdomen. Tastes like shrimp; I quite liked it. Agouti (which we called jochi) is the best meat I've ever had. If someone ever figured out a way to farm them I would literally throw money at them.

As for native dishes, I quite like saltenas (supposed to have a tilde on that "n," but this computer doesn't have one) that they make in Bolivia. Find a recipe online, use 1/4 the recommended amount of chili powder, and enjoy an excellent pocket of tasty goodness.

Pig's feet? I've managed to avoid them so far in life (pickled are popular in KY). I don't think I want to change that now, even if they are "jellied".

I have to admit a love for mortadella and that is pork sausage with chunks of pork fat. I'm sure someday I will try a pickled pig's foot, I'm sure. Just not today.

I've had some 20 year old cheddar before. It was like eating heaven.
