Non-full Games?
I have a group of friends, and occasionally we like to get a live game going. Sometimes, however, we are unable to gather enough people for a full game, even for the Ancient Mediterranean variant. Some sites allow for a rule change if there are less than seven players (6 players = no Italy; 4 players = 1 person plays as 1 power, the other three play as a pair; etc.). Is there any way to do that on this site, or are we stuck with trying to scrounge up players to fill the game?

How do you spot people who are playing 2 nations in an Anon Gunboat game?
I'm in a game where there are three nations left and two of them seem to be cooperating as well as avoiding any agressive moves, even when they would be good moves to make.

That's to Putin33, obviously.
1) Fiji. Sure, there was a military coup there a while back. But the weather is lovely, the people are fantastic, kava is vile and disgusting but gives you a nice buzz and it's such an insignificant dot on the map, the rest of the world is apt to ignore it. My favourite by a country mile.
2) Tahiti. same as above, without the silly old men in uniform with ridiculous amounts of gold braid.
3) Vanuatu. ditto, but everybody talks in french.
Now, if we could just do something about all the tourists....

Just how many of your principles are you willing to sacrifice for the sake of supporting the replacement of a currupt, elitist right-wing government with a currupt, elitist left-wing government?

Hugo has waged war on the old set of super-rich only to replace them with his own new set of super-rich. He throws just enough oil money at his core vote in the working classes to keep them on-side, abandons the middle classes (who are not remotely well off by Western standards) to ruin and despair, does his best to stoke the fires of the class war, and spends the wealth of what should be Venezuela's golden age on beefing up his military and security forces, acting like a big player on the world stage, and lining the nests of his friends.

The Bolivian Revolution is the very definition of missed opportunity.

"currupt, elitist right-wing government with a currupt, elitist left-wing government"
Exactly my point. Since no party is not corrupt, government itself should be smaller. With large government and large business, they pair up and devastate the people. With small government and a consistent business size, those corrupt, evil business people can't have any power over anyone except what the people give them via purchasing products. There's obviously more to this point, but I'm hungry, so I'll stop.

Sorry if I'm off topic...

It seems that every time theres an interesting thread going, Putin33 jumps in and ruins it with his propaganda spouting
Putin33 (111 D)
28 Nov 11 UTC
Invictus started this fight, so GFY.
Adam Bomb (100 D)
28 Nov 11 UTC
And you could have withheld from returning fire, stopped there, and Invictus would be responsible. But you kept going when you could have saved all of us out here reading this, so no blame game here without pinning yourself.

The "he started it" argument was so second grade.
Putin33 (111 D)
28 Nov 11 UTC
Here's the modus operandi of any Invictus thread, which will inevitably generate sympathy from the wepdip dittoheads.

1) Blatantly pick a fight
2) Cite nothing but wikipedia as your evidence
3) Dismiss any counterarguments without even bothering to examine or respond to them
4) Conclude by saying that debates are impossible

And then have your buddies pile on and say how Putin33 ruins perfectly good threads.

It works like a charm.
Putin33 (111 D)
28 Nov 11 UTC
No, I'm not going to let Invictus's regurgitation of ethnic propaganda stand uncontested, because I don't trust your critical thinking skills. Stop blaming me for other people trolling threads.

Dude! I'm not gonna take sides, but I'll say this: ya both had some pretty shady arguments in there, and both of you have flirted with ad hominem attacks and poorly justified sources.
Octavious (2701 D)

Speaking of off topic...

1-6) UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland in no particular order... Well, maybe Canada as 6th purely because of the huge drag factor of Coors Light

7) Japan, for their impressive ability to take what they want from Western culture and do it their way.

8) Cuba, because it's impossible not to admire a small country with that much bottle, and as far as attempts at Communism go it's not a bad effort.

9) Egypt,... OK, they've not done a huge amount of late, but what they did a few thousand years ago truly takes the breath away in the way that Athens, Rome and the like sadly don't.

10) France... because life without France would be unthinkable and painfully dull.

Please! Stop!
"Blatantly pick a fight" -- can you prove it? no. but it makes an awfully good comeback.
"Cite nothing but wikipedia as your evidence" -- really? no. but it makes an awfully good comeback.
"Dismiss any counterarguments without even bothering to examine or respond to them" -- do you really know? or do you infer it because you don't have any clue what he's saying and don't get the relation? bu it makes an awfully good comeback.
"Conclude by saying that debates are impossible" -- they are, when you argue with people who don't have any clue about anything. note i am NOT, N-O-T saying you have no clue, both because i have no clue and i don't know what you do and don't know. but i've debated many people, and whether it's political or otherwise there are always idiots who refuse to see anything, that's life. i've know stubborn republicans and democrats etc., and i was one before i learned how to play devil's advocate.

just realized i made a whole bunch of comebacks (i foresee a comeback)
4) scotland. well this is pure bias actually :) the food is abominable, the weather is atrocious, the cities are dirty and the people are good at only two things: drinking and fighting.
Nice hills though, and wonderful whisky (so why not have a drink?) and some influential minds. And of course the ppl are a little screwed up, have you had a look at our neighbours?

2. Italy - Same as France, except to a slightly lesser degree
3. Switzerland - Amazing geography, interesting history, some good food and and possessed of one of the great cities of the world: Geneva
4. United Kingdom - Love the history, London, the climate and so much more, although not the food
5. Belgium - A very interesting place, and I'm fond of the EU
6. Greece - Good cuisine, cosmically important to western society, fascinating history, incredible ruins
7. Turkey - Pretty much the same as Greece, although without the western society bit, and I think the food is better in Turkey
8. Monaco - One of those places that just interests me
9. Germany - Great history
10. United Sates - A generally nice place to live. And it has NYC, which is incredible.

To all the US answers. I live the bible belt of America. Good ol' Oklahoma, let me tell ya I've grown to despise EVERY last thing besides the freedom and the military. Anyway my list is as follow
1. Imperialist Russia: mostly because I have blood ties to upper class nobility from the Novgorod region.
2. Hungary late 19th Century: Budapest and Hungary itself was sprawling much like other eastern European countries at the time.
3. Japan feudal era: Samurai, don't hate.
4. Aztec empire before Spanish invasion: The 2nd most prosperous empire the North American continent has ever produced, also I'd be upper class if it were still around.
Now for modern time civilization
5. Finland: Growth in many sectors, one of the few countries in the world to allow a socialist party to exist and still be many things but socialist.
6. France: 2nd greatest European country today, culture exquisite, fine foods, need I go on?
7. Mongolia: Recently took a trip, surprisingly modern but still hold onto their old traditions (horses for example) good food also
8. Australia: deadliest animals, great beaches, sexy women
9. Israel: Despite it's current role in the world as being the badass of the middle east, possibly the best country within the desert. Required enlistment to the army after highschool is actually the best idea anyone could think of, im 18 and wish I could live there to recieve some discipline.
10. Last but not Least, Modern Russia: Putin unanimously winning the vote will only increase the awesome rating it already has

Finally we are back on topic.

Also, this was not meant to be a troll thread, so I am not appreciating Putin and others.

how can something as subjective as "favorite" not be a troll thread?
@Rancher: More referring to those who type things like Putin typed. Focusing mainly on countries with bloody Socialist histories.

I am not sure but it seem like it has been at least 6 months that this game has been paused. Egypt put in an un-pause shortly after the pause and has never checked back.
