I don't really buy that. If it were framed as a protest of some sort, I think you'd be in. Especially if it was a Christian church, which seems to represent the values that you despise in America. You clearly disrespect those who believe in traditional religions and I am convinced that it's because to be anti-christian is to be anti-establishment in your mind. I actually get that more than you know. I was very anti-christian and anti-religion for a long time and would have debate after debate trying to convince religious people of their failings in logic and science. But for me, it didn't stop with traditional religions, Growing up in AZ, I had many opportunities to tell Natives that I thought their religion was full of shit too. Come on, the San Francisco peaks were the birthplace of humanity? Why is that any less far fetched than a story about the garden of Eden? I can't really argue with you about the economic benefits of making snow and extending the ski season, which employs hundreds of people in Flagstaff, because I will say this for you, you are consistent when it comes to your disdain for people who chose to work for a living and you would be much happier in a world where everyone was living like you - except not of their chosing as your lifestyle is. So I'll skip that argument. But back to my former religious arguments with people - at some point I decided that I would never change someone's mind on an issue of faith if all I have to offer is logic and science. This epiphony allowed me to be more tollerant of those who had faith - any faith - than I previously had been. So when you make the comments about shitting on my crucifix or pissing on my church, my first instinct is to say - "cool, I'll go to some Christian gift shop and buy a big gawdy one for you to defile cause it don't mean shit to me" but then I hold back, realizing that it does mean something to many who I consider friends and that would be disrespectful. But for the record, you aren't pushing any buttons with me when you threaten (or offer) to defile religious symbols, I could care less - be it the cross, the star of David, the Crecent and Star of islam, a statue of Budha, an image of Shiva or the San Francisco peaks. I like to snowboard and Snowbowl is close. If it extends their season, and employs hundreds of people in a town that I love to visit, sounds ok to me.
