This setup looks great, and I'm really hankering after another game, but wary of the time it'll take.

To that end, I have 2 questions:
At what point do the overflow players go in?
Is there a point-after-which subs aren't allowed?

Also, why wouldn't the flavo(u)r for this setup be every possible name from this Mario area? https://www.mariowiki.com/Vanilla_Dome

12 end votes you say is needed to end the day early, BUT is it not a problem that max 11 of those votes for the player to be lynched?

In fact all 12 end votes may be from players voting for ND and Brainbomb and none may be from players voting for ghug!

There may be occasions when I miss the EOD

@Peter we will use the council recommended End voting system. The system listed in your description is what we used in M27 and its obviously not ideal.

That is somewhat true for me as well even if I make it most of the time. (Deadlines are normally Midnight my time (CET).

Yes I agree that deadlines are a bit late for Europeans. Have also for the FUTURE been wondering how many players we would gain and we would loose, if we tried move the deadline 2 hours earlier to 4 pm Eastern Time US which would be 10 pm Central European time. It would be interesting to hear everyone's opinions about this idea.

@peterlund... I am in the middle of the midwest of the USA... and 4pm eastern time would be an improvement for me.

With the time as it is right now I will be able to make most EOD's, if it were any earlier I would miss most of them because of work

Deadlines already suck for me because I'm on the west coast, so idgaf.

Overflow is people who want in to the game if anyone drops out during signup.

Subs are intended to be people who fill in during the course of the game itself. Many people who enroll as subs have issues committing to the time constraints, cant play right away.

Overflow also means we can increase to a max of 19 if we have a large enough interest. In the event we up to 19 players its 14 vt vs 5 scum.

14 VTs versus 5 scum with no PRs? I hope your scumteam is actually random as opposed to "random" in the sense that all the useless lurkers that are going to waste our four(?) mislynches just so happen to be town.

Advertising here for a mafia game on Discord that’s starting on Monday. Will be a very short game - 24hr days, no nights (mafia can daytalk and their kill occurs at the end of the day). 5 town vs 2 mafia, two neighbours and one circulating vest. Only need one more. PM me if you’re interested and not in the Discord group.

Game design question:

Is the ideal ratio of town:scum supposed to be a percentage? (i.e., players should have 23% scum) Or is it measured in mislynches? i.e.:
{

recent game setup was:
10 players
@ (2 scum:8 town = 25%)
= 3 ml's, 3 nk's to scum win (excepting docsaves and the like )
4 ish days of play

bigger game, same ratio yields a longer game:
20 players
@ (4 scum:16 town = 25%)
= 6 ML's, 6 nk's to scum win
6ish days of play

What balances a setup?

Generally speaking a range from 24-30% scum is good.

With PRs that can help town, that ratio makes more sense, but you eliminated that factor.
