How Happy Are You?
I'm curious about two things.
First, how much time do you spend on webdip creating political and social discussions to reinforce your own bias among fellow webDippers? What's your deal bro? Second, how many of you are slightly uncomfortable answering the real question: Why are you so unhappy? (and why does webdip help that?)

Bernie did what he needed to do tonight. Both nominations are far from over, we're seeing both go to convention. It's going to be a crazy election year.

Are you watching a different campaign? I am struggling to see any way Bernie wins from here other than someone finding a silver bullet that will work against Clinton.

I'm not being persuaded by every single mainstream media outlet that is going to shove the "Hillary is obviously going to be the nominee" narrative at everyone to the point where obviously it has to be true, even though we have more than 30 states left to vote. There is a lot that is going to happen over 3 months, and almost all of it will be against Hillary. Bernie has the momentum, Hillary can only go down as more and more people learn about Bernie.

I like going on /r/SandersForPresident to see things like this:

"Very strong performance by Bernie tonight! We're still in this! You know what that means. Moneybomb!!!"

when they lost most of the primaries.

"Yeah, Oklahoma is probably tired of frackquakes and wants someone who will actually oppose the shit rather than cave to whoever offers him/her the most money."
Inasmuch as we are tired of the earthquakes caused by the destabilization of the earth caused by the disposal of waste produced by hydraulic fracturing (fracking by what literally everyone calls it), you are correct. It's gotten to the point where we've surpassed California as the state with the most earthquakes per year. There's a commercial promoting fracking saying it is safe for the environment because it doesn't emit any gasses into the atmosphere. Right, it just has caused an entire state to have to live with earthquakes for over 5 years now despite the fact that this isn't a part of the earth that should experience earthquakes, let alone this frequently.

However, fracking has little to absolutely nothing to do with why the Democrats here chose Bernie. They chose Bernie because of the last name of Clinton. There just really isn't any sort of trust for her here. The Oklahoma City area is the only major area that favored Clinton over Sanders, and it's more closely tied to the South than any other part of the state (people like to consider Oklahoma part of the South, but Oklahoma for the most part hates being mentioned as part of the South, at least from what I hear around the Tulsa area, everyone assumes we're actually part of the Midwest). Another thing about the Democratic primary is that the state Democratic party as of November said that Independents will be allowed to vote in their primaries for the next few years, and since Bernie is more favored by the Independents and those make up actually a decent portion of the state, I assume some of that support gave Bernie a boost. I've long predicted a Bernie win here
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
02 Mar 16 UTC
I was being sarcastic, Prado.

Also, fracking doesn't put any emissions out into the atmosphere because those all get trapped in your water supply instead.

How did could bernie not he celebrating tonight? After all won 4 states, and tied with hillary in a 5th. Meanwhile hillary won 6 and tied a 7th.

But on delegates it is h:~550 b:~350, so too close to call.
Super-delegates will vote at the convention, so there is no poont in reporting them now, but at present most seem to to prefer hillary. This may change depending on how the rest of the campaign goes. But compared to the republican primary (where trump is miles out ahead) the democratic primary is nearly neck and neck.

Ok, maybe trump can still lose to Cruz... Not an insurmountable lead.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))

I doubt it. Most of the Bible Belt has already voted. Cruz doesn't have many fans in the north or west.
Octavious (2802 D)
02 Mar 16 UTC
@ Ora

I've not seen anything to give me reason to believe the Democrat superdelegates will swing towards Bernie unless Bernie captures a decent majority of public support. In the polls he came from nowhere not so long ago and hit around 40% a month ago, where he has pretty much remained. When the first states voted a few weeks back it looked like momentum was on his side and he might actually pull it off. That momentum has stalled.
JEccles (421 D)
02 Mar 16 UTC
Chaqa, I think that Cruz will pull in the votes of people that are currently voting for Kasich, Carson, and Rubio. If those people were going to go for someone like Trump they would have already. With Carson just now dropping out I think Cruz gets a slight bump, and he really just needs Rubio to bow out and he could at least take Trump all the way to the convention.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
02 Mar 16 UTC
Why would Rubio dash?
JEccles (421 D)
02 Mar 16 UTC
Not saying he will easily, but he has only won 1 state so far. Down the road he may, but honestly some of the numbers were within 10 D yesterday of Trump and 2nd place in the state, and you have to wonder what would have happened if Carson and Kasich hadn't been taking a combined 7-12 D in most states.
orathaic (1009 D(B))
02 Mar 16 UTC
@Oct, yes but you're counting provetbial chickens.

Bernies position going into the convention looks like it will be close enough that the super-delegates make the decision. (Based on current delegate numbers) That means he's still in as a strong contender.

Unlike i think several republican candidates. Infact, percentage wise, Bernie is doing better than Donald (Drumpf). If, however, the republicans pick Drumpf, then the democrats super-delegates will have to decide who is more likely to win the election.
Octavious (2802 D)
02 Mar 16 UTC
Drumpf? Does Trump have an ethnic name that we can make fun of? How jolly. Is it Germanic? Do we get to call him Kraut as well?

What I am looking for is a reason why Democrat superdelegates would abandon a true blue Party loyalist in favour of newcomer upstart Sanders. I don't see any reason this would happen unless either Bernie is comfortably ahead with normal delegates (highly unlikely) or Clinton does something really stupid (again, highly unlikely).
Lethologica (203 D)
02 Mar 16 UTC
Wasn't it only a couple weeks ago that people were talking about how Hillary was going to win only because the superdelegates would shill for her and then cost the Democrats the general due to Berner blowback? And now we're supposed to think it's still close because the superdelegates might end up shilling for Bernie instead--uh, I mean, deciding Bernie is more likely to win. Okay.

It's not over yet, but it's not close, either. Bernie will have to fight like hell just to have a shot of making it close.
General Putin (100 D)
02 Mar 16 UTC
Trump will go on to easily win the nomination as long as rubio, kasich, and cruz remain in. After that, he will surprise by winning many blue states like Michigan and New York as well as the toss-ups like Ohio and Florida. He's the only candidate that will expose Clinton for who she truly is, a criminal.

@Oct, because Bernie cam beat the Trump. And the democrat super-delegates have to look out for the party's best interests. Unless they want to lose the presidency so that in 4 years they take back the houses.
General Putin (100 D)
02 Mar 16 UTC
I agree that Bernie could beat Trump hypothetically however I don't believe that moderate democrats would support a socialist. Also, the super delegates are currently aligned with who the majority of democratic voters want them to be, according to the results of the primaries and caucuses so far. The bottom line is that Hillary has built a lead and will most likely maintain so the super delegates won't be a big enough deal. I just don;t understand how she is electable
TrPrado (461 D)

Bernie isn't a socialist by any real measure.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
02 Mar 16 UTC
Moderate Democrats support Hillary. She's a centrist. Independents who are sick of being totally shut out and are capable of compromising for the sake of eradicating the status quo, which is a huge chunk of this nation right now (including Bernie himself), would support Bernie. That's his voting bloc. The only reason he ran as a Democrat at all is because that's the only realistic way to achieve what he has already achieved in his campaign.

Hillary shouldn't be electable. She has done stupidly shady things this election cycle and her experience in politics is easily undermined by Sanders'. She hasn't done anything extraordinary. She isn't capable of it. She'll be a hybrid of Bush and Obama (probably closer to Bush). She's nothing more and nothing less. She'll take money, she'll make money, she'll do little to help working people, and she'll spend eight years fighting for a dying status quo.
