GLHF all!
I've created a new vote tracker which can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18FNJiOUc2EHywIO7xenGK4V0kQbu8aKUNSnWBVy6XFg/edit#gid=0
I'd appreciate it if someone could copy it and keep a second version up to date, in case I die at some point and so it's easier to check for errors.
I find D1 extremely annoying because it's always full of these joke posts, and you can't really learn anything from them. However, we're usually stuck with them because as a site we've exhausted all our controversial topics - No lynch, Random vote, Bloc voting, Policy lynch are all things that have generating a lot of information (even if we did not correctly interpret it sometimes) but we've settled on a conclusion for, so any discussion on them now gets shut down instantly. However, I think I've found another topic that might be worth discussing to kick this game off properly.
I do not think the Vigilante should use a shot N1 unless he has a decent number of reads.
I believe that in every game thus far apart from M1, M2 and M8, the Vigilante shot someone N1. None of those shots hit mafia, mainly because the Vig had no decent reads at that stage - as such they just shot at lurkers, with no information to go off.
In M1, Thucy held his shot N1, and he managed to figure out the entire mafia team after I was lynched on D3. He had been roleblocked the night before, meaning that he still had two shots left, but had that not occurred he would not have been able to shoot y2k on N3 and the mafia would have won easily (we still won, but it was incredibly close).
In M2, Ghug held off on shooting N1. He died on N2, so he was only able to use one of his shots - something that could be considered bad, but given the lack of information available on D1, it's more than likely that his shot would have hit town, and that game got to LYLO so the one extra dead townie could have lost them the game.
In M8, the held shot was due to the player being inactive, but it allowed the replacement, tvrocks, to have the shots later on to deal with the werewolf - something that saved the town the game.
Every time a shot has been held N1 it's been of some benefit to the town, either allowing the player to use the shot later on, or allowing the town to have the extra man they need in the endgame through not having been shot. Every time a shot has been used N1, it's been of no benefit whatsoever - it has always hit a town player.
The argument that 'The Vig might die before he can use his shots', but is a no information shot any better than no shot at all? We've seen that no information shots have a 100% failure rate thus far, and with surviving looking easier than ever in this game (no SK), I think the Vigilante should seriously consider using saving his ability for later use this game.
Thoughts, everyone? Those who like the Vigilante shooting someone N1, I'd be very interested to hear why, and what response you have to the above.
