When I was a stage actor I learned that on any given night certain characters steal the show for an audience. I was in Arsenic and Old Lace for example and there were 5 different performances each where people at the end of the show's meet and greet seemed to really like one particular character. Naturally of course I managed to have my one night where people kept saying ":wow, you were great up there". Ironically enough each of the 5 shows it was someone else.

Sometimes you gotta know when to give up the attenion hogging and (in regards to mafia) let someone else get themself lynched... ;)

Also as a side note, Caravaggio also murdered a man, so I dont really consider myself quite to his extreme. But being an Artist is always married to vigilante behavior.

For instance I once almost got thrown out of Graduate School for painting a mural in the staircase of my Dorm House. The RD arrived and gave me 24 hours to destroy the entire painting and paint over all the walls. Quite a sad moment.

As a side note, in Rome there was actually a place called the Vomitorium. Where people literally gathered together when a sickness was going around (FLu). And everyone just would chill out vomiting.

That wasn't what a Vomitorium was... they were just entrances and exits in amphitheatres.

But the entrances and exits were the sick ones. They would spew out people all the time. But this is why universal healthcare is a thing

@HR, while you're correct about the meaning of vomitorium, the Romans did have the practice of puking up their food so they could eat more, which is way weirder.

Oh by the way, to our newcomers! DemonRHK, redeer1, and skiingcougar, Theres some key terms that the mafia crowd tends to use a bit much and pay no mind it.

Omgus: fancy shit people say when they wanna try to shrug off an accusation someone lobs at them typically right after they just accused that person also. Its basically a uglier word for a bro-down

wifom: whine in front of me. alot of the players in this game do this regularly its normal... Its when you try to make up excuses for why your lurking... "Oh my dog died" or... "Oh my car broke down, sorry I missed the EOD"

EOD: end of day

AtE: Appeal to Emotion. I do this alot. I tend to make people really appreciate the marvel that is vanilla townie but making people feel guilty about killing people. "Dont kill ND, hes having a rough week" is an example.

oh NL we can use a no lynch if necessary. Cant imagine why we would lynching people is the fun of the game..

Also alot of people post reads and have grades for how they view a player.
Here is a mock read list of 3 players.
1. guak - hes been lurking alot lately. but hes pretty NULL.
(Null implies you got no read on someone good or bad)

2. TrPrado - he is total scum. he omgus'd and "tunnelled" (means to target one player and build a case on them exclusively while ignoring all other players). Thus Prado is mafia. SCUM

(Scum in that case indicates I think Prado is Mafia. dont do that thought because Prado isnt even in this game lol)

3. maniac - his crazy antics are what I come to expect from maniac. fun loveable, charming and witty as usual. Slight Town!
(slight here implies a grade of uncertainty, its fine to read people slightly at times, especially if its slight town or slight scum. No need to claim someone is a slight null, thats just absurd)

never be afraid to ask questions either! veteran players love to help the newer ones out.

My tips for new players. Believe brainbomb when he says maniac is fun, loveable, witty and charming. Ignore everything else he says especially his grasp on WIFOM.

Thanks. While I haven't done a lot of long style Mafia, I've done a lot of...I guess it could be called arcade-like? *cough*ToS*cough* since watching the last game unfold. I can't wait for a new level of player to blow my mind here ^_^
