I highly doubt a Chaqa/Brankl team, actually. I can't see Chaqa making it that obvious - if anything, I'd say Brankl is highly likely to be town if Chaqa is mafia and that Chaqa is trying to let a town wagon go on him without getting his hands dirtied.

That seems a bit hasty, I can *possibly* see the individual cases : Chaqa has hardly posted at all other than to very briefly chime in agreements or disagreements, and then make aggressive (presumably meta?) assertions about you ; and Brankl certainly seems to have lurked for the first half-day and made a number of Freudian slips, though I'm not ready to believe he would be Darth Sidious, though it would be a great double bluff if that's what he's trying to do.
But why do you think they are a team?

The context of that post is important - DL's post on the previous page was talking about the Vigilante being the only 100% town-directed kill in the game, so although he worded it badly, he was saying:
"we can afford to dedicate some to vig shooting his 100% town-directed reads".
However, even if you don't take it like this, do you really think a mafia member would tell the Vigilante to shoot townreads? Why would they do so? It has no impact on anything except to make the town suspicious of what they are saying and to make the Vigilante suspicious. This is a terrible reason to be voting for someone, and it's the only reason you gave.

@Chaqa - Can you explain your vote in more detail? It looks like you've just popped up because people were starting to vote for you, posted a vote based on a reason someone else gave and without giving any evidence, and then started avoiding talking about scum/townreads. Ghug, to me, is looking like he does every game - bullying people, hopping his vote around randomly, and trying to get people to talk. What is it that is 'off' about him?
I also want some more reads from you. It doesn't need to be a read on everyone - just people you've noticed - and it doesn't need to be strong either. Just write down things you have noticed and whether you think scum or town would be more likely to do them.

@Uclabb, Guak - Where are you?

Also, @HR - I've not been won over, I'm seeing whether this approach works for me. I promised Ghug after last game I would try doing this once, to see if it actually helps.

My vote changes so much precisely because we're all clueless. I vote for my strongest scumread at any time (until we're at end of day and consolidating on legitimate candidates is necessary). That changes a lot in the first day because I know very little about what's happening.

By definition, if LI was bussing, we would both be scum. However, what's weird is that you completely ignored the cases in which we're both town, or in which he's scum and I'm town. Why don't you think those cases are likely?

Anyways, as for the "Italy is bussing Llama" argument, I can see where it came from - Italy kind of came in late and parroted others' arguments. I could see him being scum as it started as kind of a lazy read (eventually, after I refuted his main argument, it turned into a gut scumread) and will reread him again.

@DeathLlama it's possible Brankl ignored it because he is scum and is trying to protect his buddy scum LittleItaly. Both LittleItaly and Brankl have made some scummy statements. Others have pointed those statements (even you) out so I am just commenting on those observations of them. I still think you are the most scummy though DL so until I see some more from Brankl and LittleItaly I am keeping my vote on you although HR really needs to answer my questions. I haven't forgotten about that and the longer they go unanswered the more scummy HR gets in my book.

Here's my view of Chaqa:

I think the scummiest thing Chaqa has done this game is this quote. "Ghug is gonna crucify you. If he weren't scum, I'd hop on this vote."

The odd part here is how sure Chaqa is about Ghug being scum, despite the fact that when he voted Ghug, he was a lot less sure, saying: “...otherwise I'm not getting huge scum vibes quite yet. I do agree ghug seems off from his normal Day 1 self.”

The other thing is that he didn’t really say anything about how ghug was off from his normal d1 self. If he doesn’t have an answer, that’s kind of lazy/scummy.

So, @Chaqa -

What made you so sure Ghug was scum between “I’m not getting huge scum vibes, Ghug seems off” to “If [Ghug] weren’t scum…”?
Why did you suspect Ghug in the first place? Why didn’t you say this instead of just saying he seemed off and hedging the vote with “...until I find someone better”?

BTW - we've discussed Yoda and Vig, and orc is an old role from last game, but what about the Friendly Neighbor? How do you think they should play? Should they only reveal themselves to the towniest of townreads? Should they reveal every night?

I didn't consider the possibility of DL and LI both being town or both being scum because the purpose of that post was only to explain which of those two I found more scummy. I wasn't trying to suggest that they were more or less scummy than other options, only to place them relative each other. Though I'm starting to think neither of them is particularly scummy.
Right now I'm going to go back and reread with a focus on Chaqa.

I didn't say DL's reactions weren't valuable; I said the original premise was extremely overblown. Though I don't find his irritable reactions to you particularly conclusive either; it was when they became a pattern with LI and wjessop as well that they became more valuable. I have stated this already.

@DL: Mafia is always a guessing game so like any role the friendly neighbor has to guess well. Honestly I would be hesitant with it, but like I said about the vig shot the player has to make the choice to reveal (shoot) or not based on their reads and leads. I know that doesn't help much.

So my feeling on ghug is that he's not throwing his vote around as much as normal. In the past I remember ghug having over a dozen vote changes on day 1. So far he's done:

I don't have much more to back it up. I've always said I'm not a good case builder based on what people say, but more on what they vote and the meta. Ghug seems off from usual, hence suspicion.

Other reads I have for now:

Captainmeme: Town lean. I like his suggestion for the vigilante to hold shot. I am a little concerned that he's active in day 1, but maybe he finally took our advice?

Brankl: Either noob scum or noob town. Kind of reminds me of goldfinger, but not as scummy. More just new. I'd lean town for now.

ND: Slight scum. Playing similar to last game. Would bus again if I were scum.

wjessop: Seems town to me. Asking questions and not jumping to conclusions.

OB also seemed town when I read him before, didn't have a specific reason behind it though.

Chaqa has done completely nothing. That reread was way too quick. So I'm going to vote for Chaqa unless he shows he can do something to help the town.
Also I think it's interesting that Chaqa has talked about roles and mechanics at least as much as players and reads. I don't remember seeing any good questions either
