The Great Debate: Mujus, Crazy Anglican, Nigee, semck, SC vs. My Fellow Atheists?
It seems as if we have a new wave of vocal and talented Christian thinkers, who certainly seem as willing as I to type on the matter, albeit from the other end--so, care to debate, say, 2-4 Christians vs. the same # of Atheists, on a thread w/ a neutral moderator, we each give an opening statement in succession (say, 500-1000 words or less), one rebuttal per person, and then open it up for questions, side with the most +1s for their comments "wins?"

Sexist Pig, Re-Heated Family Guy Leftovers, or Fresh New Take--McFarlane as Oscars Host?
http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/closeread/2013/02/seth-macfarlane-and-the-oscars-hostile-ugly-sexist-night.html So the reviews for the Aesthete Super Bowl known as the Oscars are in...and pretty much it's an even split, some loving the job Seth McFarlane did and others, like Ms. Davidson here, finding his turn as Oscar host incredibly offensive...and "misogynistic" seems to be the chief complaint against him--agree with that, disagree...your take?

Potential Multi Issue
I'm new to website after playing a few IRL games, and my housemate who also works at the same place as me is probably thinking about joining. However, I know there are issues relating to people using multiple accounts, and if that's done by IP address is will most likely look like both our accounts are the same person's.
What's the best way for us to avoid this, or who should I contact to discuss it further?
Thanks!

Are you the one who will rule the world?
For the easy payment of 15 D, you can enjoy the chance to rule the world with The World Wide Schlieffen Plan ( http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=111246 ) . If you can take 10 minutes out of you day for possible world domination, than this deal is for you. In fact this deal is just to good. I'm gonna have to put a time limit of 7 days for this. I would wait that long though. there's only 13 spaces left.

Looking for some advice. My wife says I should wash second-hand clothes before I wear them, in case there are bugs or something in them. But is that going far enough? What if there are demons in my "new" corduroys? Should I exorcise them first? Pat Robertson says better safe than sorry.

This thread is hilarious. People don't even bother challenging krellin on the topic at hand, they just launch into stuff they know will make him see red right from the start.

krellin, different does not inherently mean "better." The aspect of which one progresses in a society is based off their social conditioning to believe what their expectations from life should be. They then fulfill that role, sometimes by choice, sometimes not so willingly. Unfortunately for you, society has progressed to the point that you cannot stop the equalization of man and woman. Accept it, or become cynical. Oh, nevermind, you'll only see the fact that I posted here, and call me a faggot or something.

"*different* does *not* mean unequal."
unequal- Adj. Considered to be different from another in status or level.
Try again.

"your lunch hour should be renamed lunch 3 hour"
Actually, it should be renamed happy hour, and then later angry hour.

To get back to the topic at hand though krellin, most people realize that men and women are different once they've seen anyone of the opposite sex. The fact that you need a scientific study on the linguistic functionality of the brain proves that you have, in fact, never been close to a woman. That is all.

You know, in thinking about it for five minutes, I cannot come up with an example of somethings which are uniquely different /and/ completely equal. Two steak knives, same brand, same company, same production run, I wouldn't call those uniquely different. An MLT, a mutton, lettuce, and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe, they're so perky, I love that, is clearly superior to other sandwiches, except, of course, another MLT, which is again not "uniquely different." Even a PB and apple J sandwich is clearly inferior to a PB and strawberry J sandwich. Are there any things which are uniquely different and completely equal? Perhaps this entire discussion is crouched behind convenient definitions and therefore why it is not productive?
"And....it's seems in Hawaii it should be the start of work now...so, you fucking hypocrite - why don't you start working. "

"To get back to the topic at hand though krellin, most people realize that men and women are different once they've seen anyone of the opposite sex..."

1. There are quite a few people on these threads that do *not* realize men and women are different, and think they should be treated not equally, but exactly the same (there is a difference).
2. there are quite a few scientists that like to waste our money researching whether or not men and woman are different ...I'm simply passing along their research.

As for the rest of the comments directed towards me, I'm always greatly amused at the hypocrites crawling out from under their rocks, who like to sling their arrows of hatred and rage my way while complaining about the same from me. What a bunch of buffoons. If you want to insult me for my behavior, it would be best if you rose *above* my behavior, not matched it, morons.
ckroberts (3548 D)
22 Feb 13 UTC
krellin, before people continue to engage this modest bit of trollery, I ask you to clarify: when you say "Men and Women should *not* be treated the same" (interesting choice on the capitalization, by the way), what do you mean by "treated"? Socially? Religiously? Before the law?
krellin (80 DX)
22 Feb 13 UTC
(+1)
ckroberts - I guess that is the question, isn't it? Clearly women are treated the same in any of those areas currently, including before the law. The premise, though, is that different does not mean unequal. You will see the suggestion pushed around here that boys should be put in dresses and girls be given toy guns and that there should be no distinction *at all* in the manner in which a child is raised. I suggest that is wrong, based both on biology and on personal experience.

For example, tying in the premise of the article - having worked with children from nursery through high school at various times, I noticed that boys, when fighting, tend to *fight* - i.e. push, shove, punch...they do their harm, and then can make up and move on being friends. Girls, on the other hand, from the earliest ages, tend to be far less physical...but they do harm one another through the use of words and social manipulation - emotional warfare that is based on, apparently, their increased language abilities.
krellin (80 DX)
22 Feb 13 UTC
Correction - women are currently NOT treated teh same in any of those categories, including under the law.
krellin (80 DX)
22 Feb 13 UTC
But in particular, I do not believe Boys and Girls should be raised the same, as if their gender makes no difference.
ckroberts (3548 D)
22 Feb 13 UTC
So what would that mean? That boys should be raised physical and aggressive, girls nurturing and gentle?

Michelle Obama presents Best Picture Award
Cult of personality much? Can the Obamas refrain from inserting themselves into every damn corner of American life? Who thought this was a good idea--among both the White House staff and the Oscars producers? Can we leave politics out of anything? Why were military personnel used as props in a banal entertainment industry awards program?

Seriously, how is this not creepy and inappropriate?
