It seems as if we have a new wave of vocal and talented Christian thinkers, who certainly seem as willing as I to type on the matter, albeit from the other end--so, care to debate, say, 2-4 Christians vs. the same # of Atheists, on a thread w/ a neutral moderator, we each give an opening statement in succession (say, 500-1000 words or less), one rebuttal per person, and then open it up for questions, side with the most +1s for their comments "wins?"
To the remaining judges:
Over six months ago, eight of us participated in this debate. Over a period of a couple weeks, we put in large amounts of time to produce as good a debate as we could. Speaking for myself, I found the debate took an enormous time commitment, which affected both my work and my relaxation time, and added quite a lot of stress to scheduling my days while it lasted. I would imagine that other debates experienced the same thing. We did this because we wanted a quality debate, and to present our side as well as we could, and we did it for the webdip community to read and react.
Currently, our effort has never come to light, because you have not yet turned in your judge reports. I understand what a commitment this has probably turned out to be, and I understand if you just can't find the time. But please do not delay our debate any longer. I (speaking only for myself, admittedly) would request that you either commit to turning in at least two reports by the end of March or resign so that we can replace you with a judge who can act quickly.
Thank you.
