Well, I'm Back...Again.
My sitter seemed to do a pretty good job, but it looks like I might screw all of that up.
Anyways, the past few seconds I've been on here, I've only realized how big of a douche each of you are. Once I finish my games...I'm pretty sure I'm not coming back.

Suggested Map
I'd like to suggest a map to add as an alternative to the Classic Diplomacy, the Ancient Mediterranean, or the Global map. I found it the same place the other two were found. It's called "Canton Diplomacy", and it takes place in Asia.

In an anonymous, no chat, wta game Austria and Italy coordinated all of their moves. Also 2 of the 7 teams didn't turn up. Is it possible to register as 4 players. I'm hazarding a guess that all 4 of the players are one and the same person. Any thoughts from any forum members, nobody likes cheats, it spoils the games and devalues the website. Is this a common occurrence?

Nice game Austria. I'd be a bit more impressed if you'd won without Germany resigning midgame, but still, you played the east as a fiddle.

sorry all. i was multitasking throughout and my head wasn't entirely in the game.
voted draw when germany left. not sure why people didn't go with that.
russia was more at fault in the end than france. support hold kie man!
i probably should've been able to solo w/out that but missed a few turns which cost me.

Not a good game to be Turkey. Strong early A-I alliance and a Russia that seemed to either be hostile or content to let me go down. I've learned to generally view a fleet move to Rum by Russia as hostile and was expecting a fleet in Sev in 02. Was hoping to get Italy to hit Austria, but that failed. At that point, my thought was to simply influence the game and wound Russia and Italy as best I could. Can't blame Austria for going after Turkey after all.

gg
Anyway, EOG, from the English perspective:

S1901: Standard opening, peaceful towards all.
F1901: Fuck, Russia opened north. Guess I have to support Germany.
1902: Come on Italy, leave Turkey alone, Russia's got too much growth potential. Join in the looting of France.
1903: OK, Italy, Russia, and Austria are going to destroy Turkey. Germany and I can't get in on France. Austria or Russia will win if we don't set up the triple. I'll signal my intent to France, and rotate away from him
S1904: Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. C'mon France, don't fuck me.
A1904: He fucked me. Time to do what I can to make sure he doesn't win.
1905: Not really succeeding at this. Uh-oh.
1906: Well, at least germany's a good ally. I'll do what I can to keep France off his back, but I understand that he has to cut a deal with France to contain Austria.
1907: Germany left?!? Shit.
1908-S1910: Why isn't France drawing? Austria's offering it to him, being gentlemanly for after Germany left. Why isn't France taking it?
F1910: Oh, well, at least France won't profit.

barn3tt -- so you think that building the ank fleet to contest bla takes priority over ems/aeg. i was surprised to see that build especially with italy showing lepanto.

oh, and sorry about the stab italy. it was nothing you did, i just see the 1 army in italy and my hands start twitching.

barn3tt-I also take the Russian fleet move to Rumania as hostile. Which is why I was surprised, given your control of the Black Sea, that you didn't move Bul-Rum with support from Bla, along with Con-Bul. Maybe you get an Austria alliance, maybe you get 2 builds in W01 (which makes you invulnerable). The Austrian opening seemed to indicate a desire to get greece right off the bat.
Barn3tt (41969 D)

I don't think that my lone fleet would have done much to slow things down. I appeared to be jacked as all 3 of my neighbors were signalling hostile intent. I was determined that Russia wouldn't profit though. I've tried giving Russia the benefit of the doubt with a fleet move to Rum before. It has always come back to haunt me. This time I may have misread.
Given my losing streak and rapidly dwindling points, maybe I shouldn't be. But I think I am.
Barn3tt (41969 D)

Bob- I did.
OK, yeah, you did. I didn't see the Austrian support hold. Yep, you were screwed from the start.
I guess you missed where SplitDiplomat was France. I'm convinced he doesn't know where the Draw button is.
I have never played against SplitDiplomat. I probably won't be seeking him out for games in the future, honestly.
He appears to have a much better record at this game than I do, however, so kudos, I guess.

Did SplitDip not draw when Austria offered?
And Russia, what a horrendous game, man. Kiel def Berlin and move back to StP to hold the stalemate line.

Well, my game started out passive to Germany and from there it went down hill. By the end of the game my play was only for survival and if I misanalyzed at that point I apologize. I thought we should have drew the game as well. For the record, Split has been sending me nasty complaints about my play. He has never beat me yet no matter how good he is - if he had an easier disposition I might have paid attention to him. No wonder he plays anonymously.

Thanks guys and always trying to learn.

PS: I play during work as well so my attention is not 100% always.
I just hoped Russia were a better player and wanted England out before accepting the draw. Yes Mr. President,I don't know where the 5 - way draw button is.

There was also another game where he was an insufferable douchebag before agreeing to a 3wd with me and Scmoo: http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=67906&viewArchive=Messages

@Woodsjacker, it's not PPSC. There is no survival. You don't get anything for surviving or even second best. So, that's why SplitDip is sending you nasty complaints. I would too.
@SD-

OK, but by Autumn 1909, it had to be obvious that Russia was not going to help you deliver the coup de grace to me, and that Austria was going to be able to pick up those last 2 SCs. Why no draw then?
Barn3tt (41969 D)
19 Jan 12 UTC
I sympathize with Split. Go big or go home is how I try and play too.
And I have no problem with that. I wanted a triple only until we could have taken command of the east, then I was going to stab the heck out of either Germany or France, whoever was more out of position. But by 1909, the shape of the game to come was obvious.
Russia hasn't defended Berlin in the very last turn Bob,remember? When he attacked you in Denmark instead of defending Berlin.
And when I had attacked you England who could have known Germany was going to leave the game?!?

LOL - I don't resign games and I play to survive in all Gunboats - if you want to play a game invented with communication as paramount but you wish to shut off all forms of communication then you have to deal with that as a possibility. I have nothing but time on my hands so I am sure I will be anonymously in your games in the future. Good luck all.
"There can only be one Immortal!" should be your battle cry.

Tactical Sim
I think it would be a really great feature to be able to run a tactical simulation - set up the board however you want, enter moves for multiple countries and see them adjudicated. Basically to have the option of playing against yourself on your own board. I think it would be really useful, both for new players getting the hang of basic tactics and for veterans who want to see how various strategies play out over multiple rounds. What say you, webDiplomacy?
