TEST PIE #1...Who is YOUR Recipe Guru???
My daughter (12) and I just put our test Pumpkin Pie in the oven. We are "pie makers" already - it's a family thing (gotta beat Grandma's pie!) Trying a modification to our old recipe based upon hints from America's Test Kitchen. Also a *huge* fan of Alton Brown. Both give scientific reason WHY they do what they do - appeals to the Engineer in me. Who is YOUR favorite recipe source?

1. Romney 2. Huntsman (is he still running?) 3. Gary Johnson 4. Jimmy McMillan 5. Newt, if for nothing else but the fact that he used to want to execute anyone caught bringing drugs into the U.S.

Ron Paul way too dangerous for the country.
1. Obama
2. Huntsman
3. Romney
4. Newt Gingrich, because he'd get impeached for lying before the end of his first term.
5. I think everyone agrees on Gary Johnson at #5.

@Sic - none of the above *is* an option. Go to the polls, only cast a vote on those items that are important to you - or none at all if that's your preference. You can turn in a blank ballot if that's your choice - it still counts as a vote

1 - Obama
2-5 - I'd sooner drink bleach than vote for any of the clowns running from the GOP

"What are ron paul's positions? "

A) abolishing the federal reserve (the central bank) and restoring the gold standard
B) Eliminating virtually every government department
C) Militarizing the border to keep the Mexicans out
D) Allowing an economic free-for-all in which nothing is regulated
E) Doing absolutely nothing if there is ever an economic crisis
F) Ending the US foreign policy of constant military intervention

Long on Gold

/sorry, Finance humor
Someone asked for my picks. I've had my mind made up on the first two for some time, and admittedly haven't done nearly as much research into third-party candidates as I normally would, so for the moment I'm pulling from the more well-known candidates (Obama, Paul, Romney, Perry, Cain, Bachmann, Santorum, Gingrich, Huntsman). And hell I'll go rank 'em all.

1. Gary Johnson
1a. Ron Paul
...
3. John Huntsman
4. Newt Gingrich
5. Mitt Romney
6. Barack Obama
...
...
7+. the rest

I think this is a bit of an odd question, because no Democrats are challenging Obama. If, you were to vote for him as #1, I think it's fair to say you are less than pleased with most, if not all, of the Republican candidates.

However, I will say that if Mitt Romney was still the same Mitt that was elected in MA, I would consider voting for him. Unfortunately, he seems to have changed his position on a lot of things.

Just like a big majority of those not from the USA, it's Obama and then a huge gap. For me, the next in line would be Johnson, Romney and Huntsman, prefferably with a hostile Congress to handcuff them significantly. Anyone else would be like choosing between having an army in Tunis or in Portugal - sitting quietly and hoping it would be soon over..
Fasces349 (0 DX)
17 Nov 11 UTC
1. Newt Gingrich
2. Ron Paul
3. Gary Johnson
4. Mitt Romney
5. Barack Obama

Reasons:
1. Gringrich has the most experience. He was the speaker of the house during the last balanced budget, meaning he knows what it takes to balance budgets. He was speaker of the house during the Clinton era, and Clinton and Gringrich negotiated well on a lot of issues, meaning rather then this deadlock he would actually listen to the democrats.

2. Small government. Also Paul is awesome.

3. Socially liberal fiscally conservative. However he lacks the charisma to be placed number 1 or number 2 on my list.

4. I don't like Romney, however he's better then any other GOP candidates (not listed above).

5. Obama would be better off the a nuke-happy Santorum or a idiotic Perry etc. etc.

@Putin: Paul doesn't want to militarize the border with Mexico... he is the only candidate who doesn't...
The only Republican ticket that I will even consider voting for is Romney/Paul. I think they're the least insane of the bunch.

That said, I will almost certainly vote for Obama this time around, and it will be the first time I have ever voted for a Democrat for President.

1. Mitt Romney - President
2. Newt Gingrich - VP
3. Ron Paul - Head of the Fed
4. Paul Ryan - Secretary of the Treasury
5. John Huntsman - Secretary of State
Nelhybel (280 D)

If Ron Paul were to head the Fed (rhyme!), would he cut his own position and fire himself?
"The first guy to really run on a small government platform in the modern era, Reagan, actually increased government jobs more than anyone since FDR. Just sayin'"

True, but Reagan didn't have a 40-year track record of consistent small-government policy.
Or rather, point conceded (didn't check numbers if true)
