Pakistan: GOP Paradise
Liberal Tripe or Poignant Obeservation from Nicholas Kristof: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/05/opinion/05kristof.html?_r=2&src=me&ref=general ?

I tend to think the latter, but then I've been wrong before. This also got me thinking about what countries/political systems American conservatives actually admire throughout the world. Anyone care to share a place that the GOP would point to as a desirable place as a result of policies and positions similar to their own.

The stupidity of the private ownership of cars
6,420,000 accidents in the United States in 2005. Financial cost of more than 230 Billion dollars. 2.9 million people were injured and 42,636 people killed. About 115 people die every day in vehicle crashes in the United States -- one death every 13 minutes.

Question for Communists
Given that, despite the pure ideology and human equality of your concept, the true nature of human beings seems to always fuck up the implementation....why do you still believe in Communism? I mean...REALLY...Cuba is about it for communism. Even China is embracing Capitalism. Do you really want Cuba to be the model for the world????

In other words, why does ANY moron with a great philosophical concept *consistently fail* to factor in the FACT the human beings are unpredictable, selfish fucks that will screw up WHATEVER Utopia you conceive. (And YES!!!! That INCLUDES Capitalism, which in this modern Republic of the USA is nothing but a glorified Corporate Fiefdom!!!) (Saith the conservative...)

Cuba’s actually done some pretty great stuff, considering that they’re an impoverished island nation which could be doing quite well economically if it weren’t for their massive neighbor to the north acting like a petulant child over trade just because Cuba decided that they had had enough of getting screwed by said neighbor over said trade. Their life expectancy equals that of the Western capitalist countries, they have almost universal literacy, they basically hit peak oil three decades before the rest of the world will and took it in stride, and every single member of their population knows more about cars than most auto mechanics elsewhere. Granted, the country has many serious problems, but they do the best they can with what they’ve got.

Commie threads are boring. I've answered this question too many times to count.
Anyway, the answers are: 1) because it works; and 2) yes.

Ahhhhh ha ha ha ha!!! OMG....let me catch my breath! Wow....whew!!! What North Korean survey did you garner all that data from? Have BEEN to Cuba lately? Have you seen the Cubans seeking freedom in America on their rafts? Come on....grow the hell up and join reality.

I *especially* love THIS line: "every single member of their population knows more about cars than most auto mechanics elsewhere..." HAaaaa ha ha hah a!! Only if you are talking about a car from the 50's. Give them a modern EVIRONMENTALLY sound fuel-injected car and they will ask what the hell that is. Give them a hybrid or an electric vehicle, and they will think God has performed a miracle. They are "good mechanics" because they all HAVE to be to keep their ancient technology running! And...doign the best with what they have while the WORLD shuns them (NOT just the US) is a lame excuse for being pathetic.

@Putin: 1. WHERE HAS IT WORKED, dumbass! You, of course, IGNORE the thrust of the post, which is that HUMAN beings reject commuism, and thus is NEVER works, Never HAS worked and NEVER will work...But you are too stupid to admit that... and 2.Then why don't you move to Cuba? Why do so many Cubans try to ESCAPE Cuba?

Damn, Putin....get your head out of your philosophical ass and take a look at reality, at the world, at 8actual human beings* and see how they function. Communism -- a *great* idea, I admit!!! -- ONLY works with robots....WHY can't you see that?? TELL me where it has been successful?? Name ONE nation with a successful Communist government? Oh...Cuba doesnt' count...because they profit from Cuban cigars where and when they can...not very communist....

@LARGEHAM -- OF COURSE IT IS, you moron! Have you seen the Putin post lately? The trollish religion bashing post? Ahhh...you just demonstrate YOUR hypocrisy. It's funny how many of you TROLLS accuse other of being trollish when you don't like the topic. Sadly, you are too much of a TROLL, Largeham, to actually address the posted topic. So fuck off.

Putin33 (111 D)

Aurevir. Don't bother reasoning with this guy. He's insufferable. Everyone knows the "raft" canard is caused by: 1) US prohibiting legal immigration from Cuba, even visiting the island; 2) actively encouraging illegal immigration by subsidizing emigrants very generously, giving them automatic residency and a quick path to citizenship, an automatic Social Security card, and many other benefits they don't give to any other group; 3) never turning back a single Cuban emigrant, even if they're a criminal or a terrorist. Carter's humiliation during the Mariel boatlift was precious. US-Cuban agreement on immigration policy has eliminated this problem anyway. This is an old argument. Get with the times.

"WHERE HAS IT WORKED, dumbass!"

krellin (80 DX)

@EVERYONE: Don't bother reasonign with Putin. He's insufferable. EVERYONE knows that Communism has been an abject failure EVERYWHERE it has been tried. Cuba has failed to invent anything in decades....and that has NOTHIGN to do with the nation to the north...it has EVERYTHING to do with having ZERO incentive to excel and succeed in anything, because the State will take your success away from you. The greatest Communist nation int eh world, China, has forsaken Communism for a hybrid of Capitalism....and yet Putin pretends this has not happened. It is sad.

Putin is an insufferable philosophizer....who consistently and fully denies the reality of humanity, of the human spirit. Don't bother reasoning with Putin, because he denies reason and logic with every breath. (And yet this fuck is in academia, close-mindedly dementing the minds of our youth. God save our country from idiots like him....)

@Putin: "Virtually everywhere a socialist government has been implemented. " Yeah....Greece is working out GREAT! Europe as a whole is rejecting your philosophy in recent elections. Cananda has rejected socialism. China, the once LARGEST Communist nation, is a hybrid-capitalist nation.

PEOPLE....do you see who Putin fails Over and Over and Over and Over again to address reality????

Still wating for Putin to give me a SPECIFIC instance where Communism has worked well for the benefit of all the people (as Communism is designed to do). Inastead, he gives us stupid platitudes, like a child. Putin is exposed as a fraud....AGAIN....

To be fair to Putin he has answered that question a lot in other threads. It must get tiring after a while.

"Putin is an insufferable philosophizer....who consistently and fully denies the reality of humanity, of the human spirit" wow get off your high horse buddy, you seem to know even less about what you're preaching than anyone else here. i'm entering college and i think i can construct a more logical, less vehemently villifying argument then you have attempted to sputter insufferably upon the interweb masses. get a life

@Damian - If you answer Putin with logic and fact, but he disagrees *emotionally* with your answer because it does not fit his *pre-conceived* world view, then Putin (and all good liberals) will ignore you. They are immune to truth and reality.
damian (675 D)
02 Jun 11 UTC
Krellin, we have had this thread half a million times now. Putin has spent a ton of time and energy arguing these points already. Go look up one of those threads if you want to talk about it. Most of us Socialists are sick of this conversation already.

Nice logic you just presented Krellin. I'm absolutely astounded by your ability to provide a well structured argument with evidence. Instead of just feel good conservative statements like: 'Liberals are immune to truth and reality.' You have consistently on this forum made yourself look foolish at this point we all have trouble taking you seriously.
AtomicOrangutan (95 D)

Ehh communists are alright. But no one listens to Marx, the original source. It's all been modified or tweaked to the revolutionaries' liking. Capitalism is one of the steps to Pure Communism, so it will be interesting to see if Marx's predictions ever come true, and if humans will ever become unselfish enough to not corrupt the idea of Communism.

North Korea is best Korea!
It seems the folks who constantly recommend Putin to relocate to North Korea are gravely misunderstood in their intentions. They are not out of their arguments, they are simply following the Golden Rule.

Names, Faces, and Places
When I say I'm from an American from Los Angeles County, those that have never been there--what do you picture? When you think of an American, what comes to mind, Englishmen? And what comes to mind when players identify themselves as being from parts of the UK? From Europe? South America? Just curious how close we all are (or how hilariously-off our conceptions might be...) ;)
