Quite the simple question: Is there a way to receive an email notification when a phase adjudicates? I can't find this mentioned in the FAQ and I have yet to figure out how to search the forums (if that is possible)

Requesting pause in game
http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=57216

This game has 2 hours or so before next phase, and Russia hasn't input orders. However, Russia has input a pause vote, though there has been no discussion (unless I missed something) about a pause on the global chat. I think Russia has indicated from his pause though that he won't get back in time.. anyway, a pause would be appreciated until Russia returns.

Is it possible to have someone in charge take a look at this game. It seems that perhaps Egypt and Rome are on the same team. They like disadvantaged games. I guess if they are not multi accounts then just bad sportsmanship for continuing a game that is at a complete disadvantage to those others..

Thanks

Better diplomacy site!
Hey everybody, I think you should all check out www.vdiplomacy.com - it has a huge number of maps and variations that are extremely fun to play - as well as the standard classic europe map.

There is no comparison between it and this site! I can't believe more people haven't registered, check it out now!

I half-followed the development of this idea on the other thread. I'm in if you need more people.
Stukus (2126 D)
10 May 11 UTC
The rule is that every two or three years, the game has an issue. Everyone on one side of the issue is one side, everyone on the other side is another, and neutrals can be neutral.

We need seven players to agree by these rules, namely, that no matter what, they will fight to their utmost for the alliance so long as it lasts, rather than just half-assing it.

We also need a number of issues that the seven players will be 4-3 or 5-2 on. Or maybe neutrals, too. No 6-1 or 7-0, though. If it's 5-2, it'll probably be a two year issue, otherwise, three year, unless people think other sides are better.

I'm thinking PPSC to encourage strong-alliances? 36 hour time?

OK, now we need topics! Lots!

How about pro-life vs pro-choice?
youradhere (1345 D)
10 May 11 UTC
That's an easy one, sure.

Libya
Israel/Palestine
Katsarephat (100 D)
10 May 11 UTC
[Pro-Life]
1. Katsarephat
[Pro-Choice]
1.

I think we need to qualify what exactly the sides are for Libya, or Israel/Palestine.

How about some less serious ones?

Left-handed vs Right-handed
Coffee vs Tea
Dogs vs Cats (vs Horses?)
Mafialligator (239 D)

[Pro-Life]

[Pro-Choice]
1. Mafialligator

I agree, I don't exactly know which side I'm on for Israel/Palestine

But for the record
Right-handed
Tea
Cats

Other less serious ones.
The Beatles or The Rolling Stones?
Bach or Beethoven? (if enough people like classical)
Mafialligator (239 D)
10 May 11 UTC
Seinfeld or Friends?

Or more serious ones...uhhhh...
It's difficult thinking of ones that won't just align exactly the same as pro-life/pro-choice.
Tolstoy (1962 D)
10 May 11 UTC
I'm interested. Here's my issue card:

Pro-Life
Right-handed
Tea
Dogs
No preference on Beatles/Rolling Stones (I'm entirely unenthused about both)
Bach.
Tolstoy (1962 D)
10 May 11 UTC
Battlestar Galactica or Star Trek?
youradhere (1345 D)
10 May 11 UTC
Leaning Pro-life
Right-handed
Neither coffee nor tea
Cats
Beatles
No preference Bach or Beethoven

Libya I was thinking for or against the intervention, but there's a lot of gray there. Israel/Palestine isn't black and white enough with this crowd either, it seems.
TheFlyingBoat (2743 D)
10 May 11 UTC
Pro-Life
Right
Tea
Dogs
Beatles
Bach

Man Utd vs Barcelona?

Stukus (2126 D)
10 May 11 UTC
We have our 7 with Tolstoy. I'm:

Pro-choice
Right
Neither Coffee nor Tea
Cats
Beatles
Beethoven
Stukus (2126 D)
10 May 11 UTC
These two are definitely good, though we need more divisive ones. Right hands is dominating, as are the Beatles and Cats.

Umm...how about Superman vs Batman? I'm on Bats' side.

Or, breakfast vs non-breakfast? I'm not a big breakfast person, myself.

Books vs Movies? I'm with books.

I think six or seven issues will be enough? Katsarephat and LJ, if you can add yourself to the current questions. Everyone else, if you see a question with a good split, copy and paste and list and add it in.

Life/choice
Life-Katsarephat, Tolstoy, youradhere, TheFlyingBoat

Just a summary of every issue so far:
Pro-Life/Pro-Choice 4:2

The Stones - Mafialligator
Neither - Tolstoy

Cats or Dogs 4:2

This way we can keep track of every issue easily.
My position's more pro-choice than pro-life, but it's kind of a silly dichotomy, imo. I'm pro-life for everything that's alive... and pro-choice regarding that which isn't. (exception being late-term abortions to save a mother's life, I feel that's a choice left to the mother and doctors)

Pro-Life/Pro-Choice 4:3
Pro-Life - Katsarephat, TheFlyingBoat, Tolstoy, youradhere
Pro-Choice - Mafialligator, Stukus, President Eden

Right-handed/Left-handed 6:1
Right-handed - Mafialligator, Stukus, TheFlyingBoat, Tolstoy, youradhere, President Eden
Left-handed - Katsarephat

Coffee or tea 1:3:3
Coffee - President Eden
Tea - Mafialligator, The Flying Boat, Tolstoy
Neither - Katsarephat, Stukus, youradhere

The Beatles or The Rolling Stones 4:1:2
The Beatles - Katsarephat, Stukus, TheFlyingBoat, youradhere
The Stones - Mafialligator
Neither - Tolstoy, President Eden

Cats or Dogs 4:2:1
Cats - Katsarephat (perhaps unsurprisingly), Mafialligator, Stukus, youradhere
Dogs - The Flying Boat, Tolstoy
Both - President Eden

Bach or Beethoven 3:2:2
Bach - Katsarephat, TheFlyingBoat, Tolstoy
Beethoven - Mafialligator, Stukus
Neither - youradhere, President Eden

Breakfast 3:1
No - Katsarephat, Stukus, President Eden
Yes - Mafialligator

Books or Movies 3:0:1

Movies -
Neither - Mafialligator
Also, I kinda need this not to start right away. lol.
Stukus (2126 D)
10 May 11 UTC
Not to be a downer, but I think we already have 7, Eden, unless LJ TYLER doesn't show.
That's fine. I actually didn't initially realize this was a Diplomacy game being planned, just thought it was a survey. lol.

If you need a seventh I'm game, but I'm not too bummed if you don't. =P
