The second Masters’ is tournament will start this January. It is a round-robin tournament, with 49 players, each of whom you will play exactly once. Not only does this allow you to meet a maximum number of new people in game, it also provides against meta-gaming better than any other structure. You will play each country once, and one country a second time in the last game.
The Masters’ scoring system is as cut-throat as is possible. A point is won by each solo victory, and nothing for any other result. Then, in the event of a tie, the sum of the scores of defeated opponents (in your solos), followed by the number of draws will be used to determine the positions.
The top two players will be awarded the chance to play in the 2011 Champions’ Trophy.
Games have 1 day 12 hour phaselengths, allowing for plenty of diplomacy. They open every three weeks, starting in September. The bets for each game are 5

, and they are all WTA.
The format requires precisely 49 entrants, so if we have more than that number, they will be chosen on the basis of Ghost-Rating, but don’t let that put you off entering, because I’ve no idea how many will be signing up. In the unlikely event that there are more than 98 entrants, a parallel tournament will be run for those who missed out on the main tournament.
